KLR-650 vs V-STROM 650

Got a great up on the new KLR 650 in Motorcyclists this month

(or is it world?). I suscribe to both. I vote for the KLR

for me but that would work better in my stable I have

a Buell already. I put some aftermarker Aluminum bags

on it. Don’t know about the Suzuki but you probably go

Can’t really compare two bikes, even though are both 650s, the displacement really relevant. The KLR is a single the wee-strom is a twin. Night and day in power, smoothness etc.

A better comparison would be KLR, Suzuki DR650 and a BMW those are all 650 thumpers with a purpose. The KLR has liquid cooling, DR cooled and the F650 a little refinement than the other

Jodie had an F650 and one of the resons she it and bought her Ninja 650 was the lack of top end on the There just wasn’t left for passing after She has lots of power to pass at on the Ninja. Both 650s, but the is a parallel twin, hence power. For us, where we live, we lots of high speed riding just to get anywhere, so our is that we need fast bikes.

The BMW F650 would be fine if you have to ride much and kept it below 70MPH, a great bike. In comparison we property in BC where the speed are 50mph with lots of back roads and gravel to explore. We bought a couple DRs we ride out there, mine’s a 650 and is a 200!

Yep a 200 and she can keep up just fine on types of roads. Had we moved to BC year, she probably would kept the BMW F650 because we won’t be doing much speed riding like we to here.

You really need to decide most of your riding be. If it’s exploring back and occasional gravel, the KLR is the way to go. But if you plan on highway travel, go with the

Riding is more about the than the bike. You can definitely a wee-strom pretty much any you could take a KLR, is it the tool for the job, probably You can also rip along the highway at on a KLR, would you want to for 3-4 straight, probably not. A rider could take bikes over rougher but a less experienced rider go farther and have more fun on the

Picking up the extra 45lbs of the wee get pretty tiresome after the 3rd or 4th

PS If you ride on dirt, you will it.
