Test Kawasaki W800: More British that the Queen

Kawasaki W800: First test

Would the history be an eternal restarting? After having aped Triumph Bonneville by 1966 with its W1 650 and having built the first retro motor bike with the approach of the new millennium, the firm of Kobe put on a return in strength of the style, which had with the ambient. Given up in 2006, W 650 did not pass any more the antipollution standards: Kawasaki W800, from now on equipped with an electronic injection, does not know any more this problem.

The retro one does not make the revolution

Would a range of tank on a classy English green bottom, shock absorbers without mask and a hardly different saddle be the only external details making it possible to differentiate Kawasaki W800 from its predecessor? With feeling of quasi-perfection which undoubtedly answers the specifications of the current to use.

Neutral, but bad brakeman

Assessment: The desire for wanting

If Kawasaki W800 does not revolutionize its narrow crenel, it is certainly posed like its best representing. All in contours, chromium’s and brushed aluminum; it revives the desires without posing particular requirement, if not that to banish the long motorway courses and the outrageous loadings.

Posted as of this February 8,399 €, it is posed in alternative to Triumph Bonneville (8 300 €) and to the basic roadsters, but will have to cope, within its own range with Z 750 being offered for 900 € of less. It will always remain about it in the two camps not to hesitate.
