I took off the KTM sidestand from my 2001 640 in order to again have the stand. I bought the SW-Motech from TwistedThrottle.com. Talk an easy install, I wish I had this in the first place.

The side stand is an auto-up where once weight is the springs lift it up and out of the way.

I have had the new stand on for a while now. The stand springs have to where I have to nudge the stand to get it to retract. It was pretty before.

OK — I was a little to pay $99 for a kickstand. Helloooo? A kickstand. How can it be $100. Well, if I want to put a bag on my and step off the bike, I need to off the peg, so a sidestand was a necessity.

back to the freaking price $100.

Well, I got it today, and it. Before I left the kitchen, I was Damn! Now I know why that is $100. It’s nice. duty, very thick, welds, and fits the bike

Literally a 30 second install.

If you a sidestand, grab one from SW

The upper mounting point by SW-MOTECH’s sidestand is a hole in the frame (Hole B). Since is no room behind Hole B to a nut, the mounting hole in the is threaded and cannot be converted an oblong slot.

In a few KTM bikes 2.5% of all KTM LC4 motorcycles), Bolt A is not within Hole A. KTM doesn’t the bike off-spec if Bolt A and A are not concentric, because it doesn’t the use of the bike’s OEM centerstand.

When the is attached to Hole A on a bike an off-center Bolt A, it may cause the hole in SW-MOTECH’s upper mount to not line up with B in the bike’s frame. There are two solutions to this problem:

(1) Hole B in the frame of the KTM; or

(2) the bottom mount hole in the

I recently purchased a for the KTM LC4. Apparently I am one of the 2.5%’ers who a frame out of tolerance for the fastener to line up. The solution was to take a grinder and remove .030 .040 inches (0.7 to from the bottom side of the on the kickstand where the hollow nut the center stand bolt.

The was a nice snug fit. Use not to widen the hole too much, would result in a sloppy Happy trails!

You may need to the hole in a different direction Tim did, depending on the direction centerstand bolt is off-center. has not widened this sidestand hole on all of its sidestands because the would be a sloppy fit on ALL bikes.
