Two 1974 Laverda 750 SF’s For

Posted on September 21, 2011 by tad

the internet, filling a fantasy is an addictive way to kill time you should be working, or doing or spending time with kids.  I assume that of the people that visit site and its sister sites do so to precious time: we’ve most of the browsing for you.

written about my love of the twins a couple times in the they’re stylish, affordable, well, and are relatively reliable.  also pretty rare, and parts and good mechanics to them can be tough: so difficult, in that a major part of the of Laverda involves working on yourself.

So back to the “rare” part.  my surprise when, browsing (so you don’t have to), my own fantasy garage, I found two of for sale at the same time.

The is a little bit custom, with a tail and non-standard bars.

The is pretty spare.  From the ad:

This is an Italian made 750cc Laverda Caffe style Motor completely rebuilt including the and and drive train.  The paint is onyx with a clear coat.  is a near perfect show with approxamently 100 miles on, its won trophies and has always been inside.

Runs very well and with manuals, several and owners club magazines.

The is listed at 17,381, pretty low for a 37 old motorcycle.

The second ad has quite a bit history, including details of and modifications that have done and a list of “GOOD” and SO GOOD” things to consider purchase.  The list of “GOOD” is longer: the bike is listed as 9800 miles and has been maintained.

From the eBay listing:

is a very nice 1974 750 SF, I had the for about 7 years. I bought it a guy in Illinois ; it belonged to his father who had passed away. He did not know about the bike. Well Laverda expert Scott did a total rebuilt for me

I took it bike to California for the Laverda meeting where Piero selected it as the best 750 SF special (I had on and rearsets at that time).

After few months it started some rust, I hate so I did a second restoration. I zinc every nut and bolt, I changed the spokes and the front brake stainless steel and I painted it blue to yellow.

I took the to the Luckenback vintage show and the won the first prize in the category. prices will go with the new owner if wanted).

One year I painted her again to the color in the pictures.

It runs very Not 100% original, but I have all the in perfect condition to make bike 100% original. very little effort could be a show bike.

Laverda began making parallel-twin bikes in the late that were known for overbuilt reliability.  Well-engineered and stable and fast, they a name for themselves in endurance

The 750cc parallel-twin motor about 60hp, propelling the to a 112 mph top speed and the bike weighed 500 lbs fully fueled.  Early sported Laverda’s own massive drum brake that the Super Freni (“Super its name and the black bike has beautiful item.  The second is with the later twin

Each bike has a different but both are in excellent shape.  I’d be to own either of them.
