Abernathy was presented his prize at the Boss Hoss manufacturing plant in downtown Dyersburg, on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Šogad, the promotion earned approximately $135,000 to benefit Shriners hospitals for children, topping last year’s total by nearly $15,000.

The Shriners Hospital charity is one officials at Boss Hoss are proud to support.

We get approached constantly from every direction for fundraisers of all sorts from local to international versions, said Zaricor, who said Boss Hoss leaders evaluate each request with care. We just felt like (the Shriners Children’s Hospitals are) a good cause and we try to be as giving to community interests as we can. We are still a small business in a slowed general economy, but even so, we have a global customer base. This is a children’s hospital that helps anyone in need.

They are a worthy establishment and all the funds (the Shriners) raise go directly to the hospital.
