Intro

A cruiser from Moto Guzzi – a subsidiary of Italian manufacturer Piaggio – the Nevada entered its second model year in 2005. Available as a lone model, the 2005 Moto Guzzi Nevada had a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $7,999. It is officially known as the 2005 Moto Guzzi Nevada Classic 750 IE, with the number 750 standing for a rounded-up estimation of its engine displacement, which is 744 cubic centimeters.

The 2005 Moto Guzzi Nevada continued the transition of the original Nevada nameplate – which was produced from 1991 to 2001 – from a more sport-oriented model to a more touring-focused bike. Powering the cruiser is a fuel-injected, four-stroke, air-cooled, V-twin engine, which generates 46 horsepower at 6,600 revolutions per minute (RPM) and 42 pound-feet of torque at 3,000 RPM.

It has a bore and stroke of 80 x 74 millimeters (3.15 x 2.92 inches) and a compression ratio of 9.6 to 1. Each engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission, with an electric starter installed for a quick, convenient start-up. Fitted on each 2005 Nevada is a 3.7-gallon (14-liter) gas tank.

The 2005 Moto Guzzi Nevada uses disc brakes – specifically, a 12.6-inch (320-mm) dual disc at the front, and a smaller, 10.2-inch (260-mm) disc at the back. The suspension on the cruiser comprises a 1.6-inch (40-mm) Marzocchi telescopic fork and twin-sided aluminum swing arm with two shock absorbers. Each 2005 Nevada drives on front 18-inch and rear 16-inch steel wheels, wrapped in tubed tires.

Available as a black or gray cruiser, the 2005 Moto Guzzi Nevada has a steel frame for sturdiness. Fork guards, side covers, and front and rear fenders dress up the Nevada’s sleek frame. On the bike is a one-piece vinyl seat for the driver and a passenger. Instrumentation on the dashboard of the 2005 Nevada includes a tachometer, trip odometer, speedometer, and temperature and fuel-level warning lights.

The ground clearance and seat height of each bike are 7.5 inches (190 mm) and 30 inches (770 mm), respectively. The dry weight of the 2005 Nevada is estimated at 388 lbs. (176 kilograms).

For riders who treasure taking a cruise around town, as well as short- to medium-distance touring, the 2005 Moto Guzzi should be up to the task. Propelled by a sizeable and powerful engine, great with braking, blessed with smooth driving dynamics, and possessing a relatively low-positioned seat, the 2005 Nevada focuses on providing comfortable rides on the highway.
