It’s been a banner for vintage Moto Guzzi If you missed it, I posted up a 1934 Guzzi 500S yesterday. Astore or “Goshawk” was an update of the itself a development of the 500S, and was by the iconic and long-lived Falcone.

The was produced until 1953 and an aluminum alloy cylinder and barrel, enclosed rockers, and brakes. Also, note the telescopic front forks: how Like all Guzzi big singles, were low-revving, hugely machines that provided reliable, accessible performance.

the original eBay listing: Moto Guzzi Astore for

I purchased this Guzzi the Estate of the gentleman who purchased the from George Disteel’s Basically, George bought the (it entered CA in 1956 and the last expired in 1957), moth it – not sure if it was  chicken or not, then the next guy it at the Disteel Estate Sale in and kept it is his large collection I bought it from his Estate about 5 years ago.

At first, I was excited to do a full of the bike since it is in such original condition and complete. as I was reviewing the old paperwork, I recognized the George Disteel and thought that the guy who went crazy and away Vincent Black Two Guzzi’s and an Aston Martin in Coops on property he owned on the Coast of California? As it turned out it then I even found of this bike from era (I’ve included one and also a of George Disteel).

I have Astore, so I didn’t bother this one, it really need it and the history is much to preserve (In my humble opinion).

Again, the bike is complete has next to zero miles on it, been torn down. I 1000 miles as you must list sort of mileage, but Guzzi’s start having Tach’s and until the 60′s so I have no Based upon my knowledge of Disteel and then the second I really think this has not been ridden much if at all in or so years.

I think it would to be ridden though. Vintage Guzzi’s are to ride.

The seller mentions “it would love to be ridden” but not mention if it actually is rideable … The is cosmetically pretty rough as I personally prefer bikes and to be at least a little bit shiny, I’m not a fan of overrestoring them. However, in original condition are very and many would call for my if I suggested a restoration of something in original condition…

So I will not suggest that. As say, “it’s only once.”

At the very least, an old should be made to run, so this one does, or can be made to do so too much trouble.

Not much left on the auction, so go take a

Most motorcycling fans who are with Moto Guzzi at all most likely picture one of famous v-twins when hear the name, although of this site may well up the older “big single” with their laid-over and shiny, external flywheels. For relatively new to the marque, it’s to remember that Guzzi is one of the motorcycle manufacturers still in with roots going to 1921.

The original company founders served together during the World War. Guzzi’s big was the very first engine to the bikes and was their mainstay the introduction of the twin at the end of the 1960’s.

street machines featured a one one side-valve arrangement, although racing machines used a of higher-performance configurations. Different were used through the although this one appears to the rigid frame and a friction-damped fork. The GTS model featured a frame for improved roadholding, the more basic model was popular with buyers.

If never seen a Guzzi big yes, that is the flywheel by the footpeg: the exposed arrangement the flywheel to have the correct while keeping the engine compact and light. In the left shot of the engine, it’s possible to see the exposed hairpin spring used for the exhaust The inlet of earlier models a coil spring, although saw the redesign of the engine to paired springs.

I’m not sure which side of the is actually from so, as always, from any experts out there are in the comments.

From the original listing: 1934 Moto 500S for Sale

Beautiful Moto Guzzi 500S.

Was in the 70′s in Italy .

Then to Switzerland – Then I brought it to 15 years ago.

Runs and is complete.

**Mileage unknown due to no and speedo on Guzzi’s of this

Pictures at twilight [or dawn!] are for moody atmosphere, but not so great for off the details of the bike being and a couple more shots in sunlight would have appreciated.  The listing is pretty but I expect the owner assumes buyers are already knowledgeable. bike has tons of lived-in but the paint is still very a very characterful combination.

This particular machine is the Guzzi I’ve ever across for sale, and looks a opportunity to get your hands on an old machine in good running
