In the 80s Guzzi followed the of large displacement enduros by the TT e la NTX. The first one was from a prototype (the V50 TS, TS TS meant  “Tutta Strada” or roads”), which was basically a bike which could be utilized as a light off road capable to be driven anywhere.

The line production of this never took place and it a prototype but served as a basis to and complete the development of the series TT (Tutto or ‘All terrains”; available as V65 and more versatile because of its weight and size: the motorcycle had the of the street versions, which be disassembled as the other v65 in few points; 2 1 exhaust, front and back brake and drive shaft. The main difference was really the forks, a longer fork a 21″ wheel and obviously a different regarding the tank (inspired by the races of that time), one seat, a larger front and a rack in the back, one small front light and a small which got inspired by the 70s scramblers.

The typical semi-enduro configuration was successful and evolved into a complete dual purpose The  NTX (where the acronym means Nuovo Tipo X or kind cross”. The new series NTX (available in 650 and 750 engine configuration), was the same TT (separate transmission, front end) but had a frame from the ground, 2 2 (the 750 model), and a new integrated more useful for long journeys (very similar in to the Honda Transalp ) rather to enduro racing.

The engine output was decreased to to allow a better lower response, but the tank was not taken the enduro racing bikes as the TT, from the Dakar bikes Guzzi prepared (in fact realized several Dakar based on the TT that were Baja. Such NTX in their recent configurations were until 1994.

It is common on prototypes building to use you have around in the shop to put the bike to show it. I heard bike was not put together in Mndello, but rather near Modena at the old RD that at that time to Guzzi.

One of the main peculiarity of bike is the configuration of the exhausts reminded  me of enduros bikes of the 70s as s the monoshock set up built my bracing the alum swing arm.To add the frame which is made of -round and squares similar to the 501. Not sure of the benefits than the strange looking of it. The bike has a long stand, similar to the Baja.
