Installing a Tachometer (rev on a Moto Guzzi Jackal

For I believe the V11 Jackal Tachometer kit give you the same set up and components as the V11 or V11 EV, and probably the V11 Sport and Centauro. I do not about the Quota, but I bet it is the same. So you can use one of these bikes for comparison.

I I should have had the dealer put on since it is electronics. I suggest you do your dealer put yours on. you won’t, I will give you of my hindsight on putting mine on.

I was intimidated because I had a box of parts in Italian newspaper. No instructions included, no diagrams, nothing.

The thing to do is to move the headlight out of the I was reluctant to re-move mine, and it the job tremendously and lead to some I eventually let mine dangle by the and am comfortable having done so.

I don’t think there is any to worry about the wire, but use judgment.

Take the side pin or ever it is called out of the speedometer.

the 2 allen screws from the of the speedometer. I kept all the parts I in a coffee can or my pocket.

Slide the canister down the speedo use a GOOD pair of pliers to the speedo cable from the

Note the 2 wires on the back of the remove the speedo. I lubricated housing of the speedo w/ saliva twisted it out of the rubber grommet holds it in the mounting plate.

the 3 allens on the front of the mounting hold the horizontal black light pod on. Then remove the 2 that hold the mounting on the chassis.

There are 2 screws on the of the speedo which will you to twist the fitting where the screws on. Loosen them enough to allow you to twist fitting as little w/ some I am not sure what difference it but but I did not want to loosen them too

I needed to twist that later when re-installing.

are 2 light housings that 3 indicator lights each.

down the wire colours and them w/ which indicator it is, Red/Black and White/Yellow is the gas indicator. You need to know all 6 of these

Remove the indicator lights the housing. Give them a 90 twist, pull, and cuss at Beware: when you do free the from the housing, the bulb my go Be ready.

At this point, all the old should be off.

This is having the Jackal Parts helps. It is only 20 US$ ordered your Guzzi Dealer.

Run the lights through the hole in the cover for the cluster. The edges very sharp. If you have a or a file, you may want to dull down first.

Put the lights in the new black plastic Light Housing. I lubed the rubber light receptacles w/ saliva to get them in w/ a little In the form of a T looking at it from the

Left of the T is the Chocolate Black

top of the T is Green/Black Pink

Top right of the T is Purple

Bottom of the T is Red/Black

Above that I think is Blue

Above that I is Red/Black Blue/Black

I MAY have the Blue and Red/Black Blue/Black reversed, but that is how mine is These 2 are Oil and Battery.

No matter I suggest you do not remove the thick around the bundled up gob of wires. If you do, you may a wired short a fuse me. Jackal fuses are covered in the Manual, and are cheap at any car parts $1.99 for about 5 of them.

The wires are tight though, or for me.

I installed my light cluster You may want to do the speedo or tach Depends on your hand I guess.

The rear chrome then the black plastic T then the plastic indicator then the clear plastic then the foam rubber then the front chrome

I did the tach next since it had wires. I got the rubber grommet in the on the right as you look at the front of the plate. Then lubed the housing, rotated wiggled it the grommet.

The tach wires are as

Yellow — light hole in the back that the pushes into)

Black ground, goes to the terminal (-)

Red/Black — 12v, to the terminal marked (+)

Yellow/Black goes to the terminal between the and +12 volt terminals. This is the signal from the ECU.

There is another black has covered end, which is a connector.

This goes on one of the on the back of the tach. Without your tach light not work.

From here it is much done. A few things to out for:

The studs sticking out of the of the tach and speedo are not mounted (at a 90 degree angle) to the back of the I used an allen wrench I put the canisters on to try to help line up the hole inside w/ the hole so I get my screw in there. Once you get the on, and the screws in, DO NOT tighten them Just get them on.

When speedo tach are on, then go to the front and make sure of them are positioned w/ 12:00 up. If not, DO NOT twist the cans, the FRONT face plate. will keep from too much pressure on the studs on the (because you have not tightened the in the back).

One of mine broke.

When you get speedo cable and can on, I would those 2 screws on the back of the as best you can to the torque they before. Does this the speedometer calibration? I wish I
