Moto V7 Classic (2010) review

Braaaarp. burrrr pop pop pop.

Moto Guzzi V7 Classic beautiful (and loud) the lovely Neptune mufflers

I have graciously been this lovely 2010 V7 750 from Mark at Scooterazzi my poor red girl is getting still. It is quite a contrast to the I was lent before that.

where do I start?

1970 2010 is the best way of describing the V7.

styling with a few mod cons. about that later.

at the specs and it’s not a Gixxer

49hp? Is that all? Who the would only want much?

Well you are missing the if you look at specs and only by based on that.

Sure the GSX-R 600 is got 2 more hp and 2 less kgs so time to trade in the 2010 as it’s no good. I’m amazed at how people think like Cough cough, when I was I used to be like that…..

But is not what Guzzi’s are about.

It is all having fun within the speed and enjoying the ride.

Well the V7 is at 182kgs so with peak at 3600rpm most of the power is in the With these free-breathing it gets along rather with an exhaust note to for.

Power comes on at 2750rpm and is all by 7000rpm with not a lot of point it past there. You ride it in the and the 5 gears are all it needs. No need for 6.

She on 100km/h at 4300rpm with overtaking power and no need for down.

Riding position is upright with the pegs a further forward than I am to. Got acclimatised fairly quickly

Riding controls are nicely and the instruments easy to read from the cluttered combined digits on the speedo.

Seat is flat but fairly

All in all very 70’s.

Physically, the is very small for a 750, more like a 250.

It fairly predictably but does get a out of shape if pushed too hard. is lots of fun due to its light weight and punch out of corners.

Brakes are not too bad good feel. With the rims, a second disc on the would be overkill.

Just to at the V7 you can see ‘70’s every where the chrome dials, the straight chrome spoked rims that lovely heron-head engine with origins go back to the ’70s with the

Minus points?

Well not as economical as I thought it would be, 14-15km/l on my trip up north. you, the altered fuelling and pipes may contribute to this. 17 tank is adequate though.

As before, long trips are to give a sore … as the is rather hard.

Some of the is not up to usual Guzzi standard, eg the bolt-piece on tank cap surround has after only 2000kms and a that’s 1 year old, the main steering stem looks rather Placemakers-ish.

A would be welcome on a bike this. No excuse for not having

All minor points though I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the V7

If I had to characterise all of the Guzzi’s I have / ridden it would be like

The Norge – a sophisticated gentleman in his who has lots of money and has all of the mod-cons

The – a person in the mid to late 30’s – of style and still lots of and go.

The Bellagio – a guy in his 50’s, has subtle but is a little different from

The V11 Sport – in his 40’s, loves the rock music and that but also loves to party when the occasion arises.

The V7 Classic – a 10 year old boy – hasn’t got a lot of but loves to play and has nothing to – likes to be noticed.
