It does not necessarily many words to express my “bike status”:

Winter (3)

This should be it! Guzzi is now forward to the 2014 season – she pretty well after I my garage yesterday. But this is happened before:

I gave the a proper cleaning last which meant that I had to polish all the steel/alloy/chrome bits. Dull, Luster Lace and hard wax for frame and body are my favorites for bringing back the 70s It turned out to be the easiest job of the day, leaving me with aching tips after I finished the polish.

Worth it, of course – salt and rot gone!

The final work – the turning light relay – have been the job of a minute. But in it wasn´t. Instead – the electrics me nuts, mainly because I have any clue about it. I the relay to be the reason for turning failure (completely …) – so I all relays on stock.

But none of worked – more investigation I therefore opened the light on the left side of the handle bar had been installed by my mates Urban Motor a long ago. And I discovered what in my (!) was the reason for the malfunction: a broken plate (see arrow).

So I reconnected the plate through tiny brazing. But the result was The main lights switched on and driven by the turning light Really confusing… So I also the fuses in the headlight.

And one of them was …. I pushed a new in the mounting and kept my fingers But still – the connection was wrong: lights and headlights now blinking

What the heck…?!

The solution was easy! Urban Motor the light switch to my individual last year. Since it attached to both the main AND lights instead of only low and beam. The On and Off switch of the front had been re-located under the So the disconnection of the plate was there for a

Neither relay nor turning were mad. I just did a to the electrics through brazing together… Originally, only the was broken and changing it could been pretty easy. I spent two hours checking half-truths and even involved my dad honestly, had better things to do on a Saturday afternoon than his frustrated son whilst reanimating a Italian motorbike.

So: Thanks!

The solution was disconnecting the brazing on the again, fitting all fuses and putting the old and still-working relay the system. A final plier was done to the grounded metal switch housing because it had contact to the electric supply of the light switch axle – and this gave the complete a shortcut resulting in behaviors I cannot tell… 😉

But, finally the end was promising: Old started easily, revved and had a very strong choke-less speed of just over rpm after only a few minutes of up. All the electrics worked well then…
