Royal Enfield Bullet TwinSpark 350cc Review

As Enfield offered us an unconditional drive on a line-up of our favourite it’s time for us to rate the Electra TwinSpark 350. But that we sincerely thank Mr. Praveen Royal Enfield Chennai and Showroom Manager Coimbatore for sincere and heart whelming

Engine, Transmission Performance

The of the Bullet Electra is 350 cc air cooled, four …, single twinspark engine that a stunning 19.8bhp (or 14.76 kW) at rpm and peak torque reaches at 4000 rpm. The Bullet is equipped with TCI (Transistor Ignition), which older, model Bullet didn’t The TCI system is far more reliable and to start the motorcycle than the type and also needs maintenance.

 One of the main is that the older engine on Electra was heavier and suffered power losses in transmission.

The New Electra TwinSpark doesn’t those problems or they minimized at least. Now engine is from aluminum alloy, and of the motorcycle is only 180kg. exhaust sound is not so powerful as its – the standard Bullet.

It’s Electra TwinSpark comes the new glass wool filled which not only reduces and heat transmission, but also with Euro 3  reduced norms. But who cares about seriously? But if you badly need thump, you can always choose after market options for system.

Compression ratio on the Bullet Twinspark is 8.5:1 (same on 350) is pretty high.

The feels very good and as lazy as it was on original Bullet. Now first gear is pretty and after reaching second real fun begins. Acceleration to can be done in mere 6.6 to 6.8 seconds, is much better. It was around 8 for standard Bullet Electra. output is great, and more enough to provide you with experience in the long straights.

reason for that is top speed, is a bit more than 120km/h, and exemplars reach even 125 Although it’s the speedeo one, the true speed somewhere at around 110 km/h. is about torque which has lowered by 4Nm and it reaches peak only in 4000rpm as compared to the Bullet Electra which reaches at itself.

Talking about the new the bike is equipped with a Mesh 5-speed. Upshifting/downshifting good and smooth, and the power  spreads out very evenly. much shorter gear it feels a bit like a sports

Now 5th gear is identical to 4th gear on model. Though there is a with this gearbox it is tricky to find neutral the bike comes to a  halt.

Overall, I would say that TwinSpark has much better than old Electra, despite mentioned flaw. Also, I that new engine is solid and it showed no excessive vibrations is moderate vibration, which at around 80km/h) and any oil leakage Starting the bike is easy due to starter which comes a soild built kick too.

Design Build

It is tough not to like the design of Electra. It has old-school, traditional and simple clean lines. It is a motorcycle with gorgeous But let’s look at some

Black finish is utterly quality is near to perfect and itself is very glossy. you get very close than you can see dust, and any fingerprints are quite on black finish, but from a it looks fantastic.

Also Enfield Company logo quite spectacular. Chrome looks good and shining as definitely not cheap like on other motorcycle brands. stands out and has great effect on motorcycle looks, it has some of commanding presence.

Headlamp isn’t modified, but still looks awesome. lights in the front and rear clear lens now rather the yellow ones. Even details looks great, the color has been changed, looks flatter and have written on the back side.

Also front disc and exhaust pipe looks

Build quality is improved since standard Bullet All details are high quality, looks cheap or like it fall off any moment. So far no cables cut,  bulbs fused, and like something will either. Also headlight a 35W, 12v halogen lamp illuminates quite well and wideness is excellent.

The tail seems to have improved

Comfort Handling

Well, I to say that new stepped seat is than earlier version, more comfort and has adequate space for heavy or tall After continuous exhaustive hours, the  seat still decent and not very tiresome, on old Standard Bullet. Suspension set up is good, with the gas charged at the rear that provides driving pleasure in all kinds of

Bullet Electra TwinSpark is stabile in straight lines, it’s meant to ride it that. The 19” rims and long wheelbase ensures good and stability. Though cornering is story. Bullet Electra lazy around corners, and long sweeping corners are sharp corners are definitely of this machine.

But that is the with most cruiser-type they are not crazy cornering they need to be driven on the not on the racing track. So it wasn’t I must say.

Overall, handling is not the greatest of this bike. But it is not a problem, just mildly annoying Comfort on the other hand is can’t complain about

Brakes Suspension

Brakes are thanks to the hydraulic 280mm disc set-up, which is better than old drum brakes remain the same the 6” drum brake, but it works well though. Now with one  can feel very in any situation, either in the middle of traffic areas, or in the highway.

brakes perform decently

The Front suspension is hydraulically telescopic forks, … = The rear suspension is swing arm adjustable gas shock absorbers, = 80mm. Suspension is fine and comfortable ride until you to ride on the rough terrain, it becomes a little jagged. But on the roads there are no problems it though. Overall braking power on TwinSpark is more than and suspension is reliable and mild.

Fuel Pricing

Of-course mileage vary depending on the motorcycle and one’s driving style, the fuel consumption of Electra is around 37-40 kmpl, Royal Enfield claims it to be With full fuel of 13.5 liters, Bullet can be driven for almost 550km. Bullets aren’t made for many bikers are aware of

There are two different Electra models available – kickstart and electric start (ES). The are available in three shades- silver and black.  The offered by Royal Enfield was a Black with Chrome  as you see. Ex-showroom prices of are Rs.

94.500 for KS and Rs. 98.500 for ES version Ex-showroom prices of Chennai for the KS and ES are Rs. 89,846 and Rs. 93,846 respectively.


Although we were pleased with changes in new Electra. The older problems 4-speed gearbox, limited and not efficient drum brakes as as several other minor resolved this time.

quality is better, fuel is better, and even turn look better on Electra Looks like the better has even more better. it is worthy bike, for the cruiser you.
