We have previously Suzuki’s DR-Z400E and come quite impressed (January 17, ).

Suzuki was kind enough to let us a 2001 DR-Z400E for an extended through Baja, California Trail Boss Tours. We extensively about the Trail Tours adventure (June 25, and August 2, 2001 ). Riding a group of experienced riders, and many of those riders on XR650R, I pushed the DR hard over 300 miles of Baja in a three day period. The DR-Z400E with a smooth shifting wide-ratio transmission. There to be a gear for virtually any situation, with the bike’s broad and excellent torque. As I stated in the Boss Tours’ article August 2, 2001, on the third day I had to tow my Kent on his wounded KTM300. was a piece of cake, even beach sand.

The motor is very tractable, and it up just fine on the beach towing the roughly 420 pound

The 2002 DR-Z400E has just introduced (I rode a 2001 The 2002 model is identical, for slightly different graphics, a new new rear shock absorber adjustable high and low speed damping — a feature normally only on motocross race and wider foot pegs.

While faster riders want to stiffen the suspension, and re-valve the forks, the DR-Z400E very well right out of the box for riders. The 49mm front is an excellent, rigid design responds extremely well to Basically, you can take the DR-Z400E all the way trail/play bike right to race bike (ask Kiedrowski and the Yoshimura crew).
