Based on the DR-Z400 and off-road machines, the Suzuki DualSport model combines the off-road performance capabilities street-legal lighting and instrumentation for the in on/off-road performance.
Updates for include a new, aggressively headlight cover utilizing lightweight bracket, new rubber signals, all new engine guard and rear disc brake All new suspension components similar to the off-road machines are utilized, a new front fork with adjustable rebound and compression and a new rear shock absorber adjustable high and low speed damping in addition to fully preload and rebound settings.
Tuned with a broad and low rpm torque in mind, the compact liquidcooled engine comes with a four valve head, 36mm CV-type a five speed transmission, start with an automatic system, and a lightweight nickel-silicon-phosphorus-carbide cylinder and a forged piston. Add to a thermostatically controlled fan and radiator for operating temperatures in any environment.
The engine is mounted in a chrome-moly frame, similar to Suzuki RM models, and is designed for torsional and light weight. Oil for the dry-sump system is carried in the main and front downtube of the frame, front and rear disc supply plenty of stopping to DOT legal DualSport tires on aluminum wheels.
The DR-Z400S shares the smooth, profile of its off-road brothers bodywork designed to allow the to move freely around the in any situation.
