2014 Suzuki GSV-R – The Inline-Four Cometh?

The camera’s over at Cycle have caught Suzuki tests for its MotoGP project, and the indications are that the Japanese has dropped its V4 motor configuration in of a more traditional transverse cylinder arrangement — at least for present stage of testing.

World ‘s sources say that the cylinder configuration may be fairly the 2014 Suzuki GSV-R is but your typical four-pot. the makings of a crossplane crankshaft via the exhaust routing, it would Suzuki has taken a page out of YZR-M1 ‘s playbook, with being the name of the game. Over the past few years, involvement with MotoGP has tumultuous, to say the least. Downgrading its from two bikes in 2010 to one in 2011. the Rizla Suzuki then seemed set to run its 800cc GP in 2012 against the 1000cc of its competitors, before finally out of the sport entirely.

Struggling to compete with the satellite the decision to stay with the bike seemed like blow to the “factory” racing though that seems to be an analysis now that all the cards are on the as it is unlikely that all the current bikes are using the full displacement (Ducati is very operating in the 900-930cc engine range).
