Suzuki AN 250

Introducing the all new 2002 Suzuki LT-F250 Ozark. Like its namesake; Mt Ozark in Arkansas, the LT-F250 is built to be practical, accessible, convenient and a completely enjoyable experience for everyone. Packaged with a stylish modern look, the LT-F250 is equally happy at work or play, full of features and value priced, further reinforcing Suzuki’s recommitment to the ATV marketplace in 2002 and beyond.

The all new Ozark features a single-cylinder, overhead cam design with a bore and stroke of 66 mm x 72 mm creating a full 246cc’s of torque producing motor. A centrifugal-automatic clutch works with a smooth shifting wide ratio five-speed transmission, a convenient reverse gear and low-maintenance 2WD shaft drive system.

Air-cooling and a wet-sump oiling system help to make the LT-F250 simpler and lighter, while an electronic CDI ignition system and automatic cam chain tensioner allow for reduced maintenance. The SOHC valve train uses rocker arms and simple screw tappets for easy valve adjustments, while the auxiliary starting system is a recoil pull-type. The Suzuki start-in-gear system provides easy re-starts in any gear with the brake lever pulled in.

A single 29 mm carburetor, large capacity airbox, and tuned exhaust system combine to produce a broad powerband with an emphasis on mid-range torque.

Anchoring the Ozark is a rugged steel tube chassis featuring a 1140 mm (44.9 inches) wheelbase, 2.6 meter (8.5 feet) turning radius and 210 mm (8.3 inches) of ground clearance, while a steel tube bumper and grill guard are standard. Suspension duties are handled by an independent double wishbone coil over dual shock arrangement in front, delivering a full 140 mm (5.5 inches) of wheel travel, with a single shock swingarm rear suspension also providing 140 mm (5.5 inches) of wheel travel at the rear.

The LT-F250 Ozark has a comfortable, well padded and contoured seat with 785 mm (30.9 inches) of seat height and also features integrated bodywork with flared fenders, built-in mud guards, full floorboards, and a large 4 liter (1.1 US Gallon) storage box mounted underneath the seat. Fuel capacity is a generous 10.6 liters (2.8 US Gallons) including 2.6 liters (0.7 US Gallons) of reserve capacity.

A vacuum-operated petcock automatically turns fuel flow on or off when the engine is started or stopped. Durable steel wheels are mounted at all four corners and braking duties are handled by dual 160 mm (6.3 inches) discs combined with single piston calipers up front with a semi-sealed cable operated drum brake out back.

Unlike many competitor models, the Ozark features dual multi-reflector halogen headlights, a charging system that produces a strong 170 watts of power. Integrated steel-tube racks are mounted front and rear as standard equipment.
