Hustler helmet

Beautiful fit and

Classic design with amenities

Incredibly comfortable if you are a head type

Chin about 2”-3” too long

black finish does fingerprints (from you petting it)

comes in 3 colors and no heavy flake The Hustler’s now come in a of metal flake colors!

the opportunity came up to ride the new High Ball and Harley Forty-Eight for mini bike I looked at my current gear and it lacking. Sure I prefer a helmet but for those two bikes I’d wear a ¾ helmet; especially Daytona during Bike

Lucky for me Bill at Biltwell, stepped-up to the plate, swung for the and sent me two of Biltwell’s new DOT approved helmets – one medium in Flat and one large in Flat Black. Why two you ask? Simple – I have a head that fell between the medium and large on size chart.

When the helmets arrived, I took them out and started the Flat Black one. The finish on this helmet is cool; silky smooth to with a perfect flat

Everyone who has touched the Flat Hustler has commented on the finish. The Titanium color is also but without the silky feeling the has.

Having recently a Bell Custom 500 I was curious to see how the stacked-up. Relatively little against the company that the modern helmet (sort of the company); David vs. Goliath – or in case Goliath’s step-grandson.

The Biltwell Hustler is built Haha….I crack myself up. though the Hustler is put together nicely with no real fit and issues at all. The interior is with a “synthetic suede” that doesn’t really much like suede to me but it is soft and comfortable. The chin fit perfectly with the only being that they are a bit

When you have the helmet on head and the chin-strap snap you are left with a large of strap dangling in the wind. The on both the medium and large fit the way and could be shortened by around 2”.

The outer shell is made a seamless ABS shell that not will survive a crash than a multi-piece shell, but looks better.

The quality of the is easily as good as the Custom 500 Bell which impressed me. The is designed a bit differently than the 500 in that the bottom of the helmet is flatter on the Hustler where on the 500 the bottom is cut on more of a slant. on a flat surface gives the that the 500 is smaller but I don’t that is the case when you are the helmet.

No matter what DOT ¾ you go with there is going to be a bit of a factor as the helmet needs to be robust to meet the DOT certification I personally think Biltwell did a job keeping the Hustler as slim as

Where the Custom 500 and the Hustler greatly is in interior shape. The 500 is built more for a round shape while the Hustler is more for a neutral to long-oval shape. The Custom 500 in medium fit me very well front to but was fine everywhere else so a would have been too

The large in the Biltwell Hustler was everywhere except around the of my head where it was a bit too big. manifested itself mostly by some lift at highway while wearing it on the Victory Ball.

The Hustler in medium is very to get on my head but fits like a once there. I’ll with my ears getting at when removing a helmet as as the fit, when on, is perfect and the in medium offered me that; it be one of the most comfortable helmets of any I have worn.

One last to cover is noise – or rather the thereof. Both the Hustler proved to be quieter than any face helmet I’ve (Arai, Shoei, Bell, HJC, KBC, AKUMA, and a few I can’t remember) with the being a tad bit quieter due to fitting

If you are in the market for DOT ¾ helmet that good, isn’t bigger it has to be, and is built to a standard that make one of the “name brand” proud, then Biltwell, has the helmet for you.
