Hello from Tucson, AZ

a 66 yr old retired EE that has been a Harley Low Rider the past years, after owning a Intruder 1400 for 10yrs and 40K but based on the urging of a friend who a scooter, I took the plunge and an ’06 Burg 650 last over in Tyler, TX and rode it miles back to Tucson, midday today. I stayed in Abilene the first night, NM the second night, Show AZ last night and rode this morning. After ride, the Harley is going to be

I had never actually seen or a Burgman (400 or 650), but reading such rave on here, I went for it and am I ever I did. The 650 is one sweet ride and a traveling machine! I rode miles and don’t feel it at all.

All days but today very windy. nasty but the Burg handled incredibly with only right on throttle. Curves, no problem.

The evening I got a late start out of due to a delay in my flight, then got in accident backup south of on I-20 that took an 1.5 hrs to get by, so I got into Abilene after The next day I got an earlier start and riding the first evening all in I tried out manual shifting and OD and was a nice surprise. rpms and speed went up, so the rest of the home saw OD on the long stretches and to 5 on

long uphill grades.

Short grades it ate up in OD. I was running most of the time, but ran 80-85 in long stretches (and was getting passed). Fuel ranged from 55 to 64, so I was very

Friday night I rode in rain the last 10 miles Show Low, AZ. I had suited up rain gear in NM, before the AZ seeing black clouds so when it started raining I never even slowed and didn’t get a bit wet. I had put Rain-X on my face shield so the rain blew right off.

The bike only had 2120 on it in 8 yrs and I put 1200 happy miles on it in 4 I can’t say enough about a great bike this is and I am so I took the comments from forum to heart and went for the I know I will get a lot of good use out of it and it get lots of TLC like it’s had up now. It looks like a new

It has a T-Box on the back, which was hauling my stuff and a large bag, that I carried chaps and riding gear in on my to Tyler. fit under the seat.

I forward to monitoring and participating in forum. I’m a DIY kind of guy and I I’ll be able to learn a lot I already watched some of the service videos before I to get the bike, so I will be reading and more videos when I time.
