Reader’s Ride: Suzuki

The 2013 Bike of the Year are out and Dave Fall revealed the 15 on the list. Wheels 24 readers written in and shared their on who should be crowned as the winner.

also inspired Wheels 24 MARIUS VOSLOO to write in and his love for his Suzuki B-King and the Inazuma.

He has this to say:

I am the owner of a badass Suzuki the problem is that it is so expensive to that I had to buy a dedicated commuter to survive financially.

On the B-King I can’t achieve than 1000km on its rear The chain, sprockets and brake need replacement every

I managed to do 30 000km in 12 months and the has an average fuel consumption of This is due to my riding style. I other owners of B-Kings and do not endure this kind of maintenance.

They ride old people, that is why.

my riding style the King me about R7 per km.

The obvious choice for me was to buy the Suzuki aka the Baby King. Everyone me that I was being stupid, I could purchase a second-hand R6 for the price.

The point was to save money and a reliable bike. If I bought a R6 or I would still have had a burner, wheelie machine, sports bike and high Unfortunately I do not possess the self-control to ride a sports bike

I meet a lot of riders on the road day with sports bikes and do not keep up with me in traffic. bike inspires kamikaze

Suzuki claims a consumption of 32km/litre for the Inazuma. I managed during the first 600km. that there was no more and the fuel consumption went to a reasonable 24km/litres.

I can’t perform a wheelie on it and it not have the power to burn the Oh, but what a pleasure it is to ride.

No car close off the line so you don’t end up in way. It runs over all limits. You can throw this around in corners like a stepchild!

On my B-king, my fuel bill was R2000 a month at an average of per day. With the Inazuma, my insurance and fuel for the month is R1900.

I have now managed 2000km and the still look brand I used to ride the Baby from Monday to Thursday and use the on a Friday just to spoil

I just use the Baby King now it can still put a smile on my face and I some spare cash to the hell out of my B-King and use it on the weekends.

is my sixth Suzuki since and most probably the most bike I have owned. I do not buying it for a second.

As for the 2013 SA Bike of the Year on Wheels 24 . my vote naturally to the INAZUMA.

My bike list:

3 x (I spent R50 000 on one of them, and that was motor mods and an Arata

1 x DRZ400 — It was modded to the end of the crazy bike. I spent R50 000 on this one due to performance mods.

B-King — It has crazy (if you derestrict it). I have about R20k on mods for one already.

Inazuma — Stock, got new bar end mirrors, original mirrors take-off.
