Seat Concepts Suzuki Review

Testing Doctor Big

We completed a few excursions on the big Suzuki so let’s talk about the

The Project — What was a nondescript 1996 Suzuki is now a far different animal. As for distinction, it now has it in almost in excess. So is it heaps of things, or just too much? One for sure, the Seat Concepts has loads of interesting parts on it. are familiar and others new to us.

Most are enough to be considered as options for any bike.

My general opinion of all 650 dual sports bikes is love them for what are because the return on investment for modifications is very small. It doesn’t pay to spend any real on them. Make them then the suspension and brakes are and so goes a vicious circle. see how well this holds for the DR790.

For comparisons we used along a stock Honda XR650L as a benchmark.

With  a single thumper of nearly 800cc it is automatically the heart of the story. unique would have to be the key From the instant the big bike to life, it sounds and feels no other.

There is a sense of (and vibration) that throughout the entire chassis. The is not bad, but does get a little

But the entire bike seems much alive and begs to the throttle twisted. The twisting is said than done. The Mikuni carb suffers a ridiculously heavy throttle

It is really designed for a different but other than stiff, quite well.

As I said the bike seems to be alive in a way no stocker could match. like might be the best for performance. There is loads of It does not rev very fast or Real power is certainly than the tiny original displacement.

But it is not radically faster

Our comparison 650L has been and has the small end cap removed from the muffler. In roll on tests the 790 get a quick jump ahead and the two would hold steady. Top was not terribly impressive on either. The would rev quicker and farther. The level for the modified Honda was considerably quieter than the DR.

The FMF Q muffler was overwhelmed by the displacement and too for my preference.

Where the 790 shined was in Riding mostly old jeep the DR would consistently be happy in 3rd for long sections of road. On of the switch back climbs, the required regular shifting 2nd and 3rd and would spin the wheel too

On a twisty county road, the DR would go from corner to without shifting, the big torque pull hard on each exit.

Other than that. It was to find any distinct area the 790 could be considered superior. As for yes it is really big and never lets you that fact. I cannot that I would actually say a thing, but the XR650L felt a 125 by comparison.

Any where in the dirt the feels large and seldom it keep pace with the Perhaps with more time I could be comfortable the weight and push it harder. It the scales about 325 lbs sans

Discretion is a good plan for off

One of the bigger ticket items for the was the suspension. I felt the fork was too for nearly everything we rode. It started to work well on a rocky down hill two

It felt better at higher but gave up comfort for most situations. The shock worked there was not much to notice, it worked. Overall, the XR, while overly soft, seemed matched to the terrain and speeds match the bikes.

There are a lot of on this bike. Probably a few too overall, but all interesting to consider Here are a few of the photos and my critiques of pieces.

My favorite part of the bike. Makes everyone say when they get on
