Highly rookie Jace Owen has into the East Coast season looking to make a on the ever competitive Lites Jace missed the main by one spot in Dallas but showed promise for much to come the young rider.  This weekend in Atlanta Jace a few laps and also made his main event of his career off his rookie season with a

We caught up with the Factory Works Club MX Racing to see how his rookie season is going.

You now a few Supercross races under belt.  How are things going so

I have had some ups and downs so My first race was at Dallas and I pretty good going that.  Once I got there I had a few with the bike and it wasn’t like I wanted it to.  I was struggling with how hard the track was and it didn’t go as planned.

My weren’t on point there, I the main by one spot which isn’t acceptable for me.  I back to Club MX and got ready for I felt a lot better in practice at but I was still in the B practice and couldn’t put in a fast lap.

I ended up qualifying 13th was an improvement from Dallas.  I got a start in my heat race and was in and took the lead for a few laps.  I got and was riding in second and felt but then I made a little in the same turn that I in practice and I went down.

I get up fast enough and didn’t end up it out of my heat race.  I had to go to the LCQ again I didn’t want to do but I was able to get in and then moved up to second and put me in the main.  The main was something new for me, it was laps and not the easiest thing to do on a track wide open.  I popped my shoulder out during day so that was bothering me all day long.

I was way outside on the gate for the main and didn’t get a good start and was in or 15th for most of the race but my shoulder didn’t really me to keep going.  I ended up which isn’t where I to be either but it was my first main I’m doing some therapy on my this week and I look to going to Indy this and getting in the main and making an

The Factory Metal Works MX Race team may be new to the scene but it like you guys are here to a statement.  What’s it like with this new team so

So far the team has been awesome.  has backed me 100% and hasn’t put too much pressure on me.  He me to give 100% and that’s I’ve been trying to We definitely have a lot of great behind the team like MX and Wide Open along all of the other great sponsors are helping out.  We’re my bike better each and week.

It’s been a building for myself and the team but we’re trying to do the best we can and I think making a great impression.

us about your first race.  Most people of racing Supercross their life.  What was it like opening ceremonies and lining up on the in front of all of those people such fast riders?

in a Supercross main is something dreamed about since I riding when I was 4 years To line up there and be in front of of fans is a pretty cool I’ve been watching ceremonies for the 450 guys for quite time and all of those guys are bad dudes.  Hopefully one day I will be to come out during opening

Right now though we’re focusing on progressing and one day I will be up with them.

You lead a few in Atlanta, what was going your head when you out front and are you eager to get the taste of the again?

Yes definitely, it was great to get a good and get up front and even lead a few A lot of guys don’t get to experience but I do expect that out of myself.  I put in work for a reason and that’s to 110% when I race and like I practice.

I know I have the speed of those but just have some holding me back but I’ve working on that a lot.  I soon things are going to together.

Now that you know to expect and what to work on, will you be focusing on the rest of the to score some top finishes and a mark on your rookie

First off I need to get the shoulder one percent.  I need to keep therapy on that, it’s not an but I need to get myself better.  I the first few races out of the way now and I know how the works.  Now I know what I can and do between sessions with

I know when to go back to the rig and film and get prepared.  Now that made it into the main I be able to get into the A practice and should make putting laps in easier.  Putting in times so I can get good gate is important.

Starts are really so I’m going to keep working on so I can pull some holeshots and get up front.  I need to get the feeling of up with them and start myself.

Lastly, what’s the thing that you’ve racing with these so far this year that you thought of before?

The biggest I’ve learned is how fast you to adapt to the track.  You get ten minutes of a practice but that time by really fast.  You get to walk the but that’s not really the same.

so much different every so you have to learn the track in ten so you can throw down fast You can’t just go out and lolly you have to go out there and get the rhythms right away so when the practices come around you can a heater down right
