Suzuki GSF 650

Suzuki Bandit GSF 650 S

Advantages: everything quite well

Does nothing exceptionally

Suzuki only marketed the GSF 650 Bandit in the UK for a couple of years they dropped it in favour of the (2008) liquid — model that they had to to in order to meet emissions so the subject of this review is the of the air/oil cooled Bandits.

It has cylinders, four carburettors, a exhaust system (in stainless thankfully) and a six-speed gearbox. It has a at the front where liquid bikes have their but it is an oil cooler rather than for coolant. There’s nothing trick about any of it and there’s no that it is built down to a (see Build Quality but it’s still a cracking buy for a market segment. Here are details:

The riding position is nicely so comfort is reasonable. The SA model half fairing and ABS offers wind protection meaning cruising at or slightly above speeds is a breeze and the spare available when riding at motorway speeds in top gear is to waft you by dawdling traffic with a flick of your and without needing to change If you do change down one or two gears and then give it a big handful you get the desired result and a very overtake.

I have to say I’ve experienced the ABS in action. In normal use the seem very effective and responsive. All the controls are responsive, in This is coupled with a flexible engine.

The GSF650 just does not a power band as such and you get a response anywhere from rpm up. If you really want to you can gently the throttle from just 1000 rpm and get a smooth response, I suspect not many bikers be overly interested in that style. All in all the experience is smooth. The is a detuned and bored out sports engine and there is just no vibration at any revs.

The power give a clue to the target Hard-core bikers will not this bike, that everything reasonably but nothing

Pop some throw-over panniers on and got a totally reasonable tourer of covering 200 miles between You even get a clock and a fuel on one of the dials. The seat isn’t for 200 miles, though. The most I can without numb … is 2 hours.

The lights are good on dipped and main beam and the are big and bright and flexibly mounted. The work. No vibration and you can actually see the behind with them.

The is not sports bike good, but you can fling it into bends confidence and flick it about as as you’ve got even a little into the tyres. The whole is fun.

Now for the build quality and finish. Not I guess Suzuki had to cut costs The paint is amazing; give it a look and it will flake a bit in

I’ve lathered the more bits of the swinging arm with pending the fitting of a rear (I don’t know if you can still buy — it’s a greasy water and rust repellent works a treat but looks and I imagine I’ll be having the repainted sometime soon. told that the rear doesn’t last very Mine’s OK for now.

I had an automatic oiler fitted when I the bike and that seems to be very well indeed.

With a discounted brand-new price of about Ј4000, a time of about 3.5 seconds and a top in excess of 130 mph it has to be one of the most cost ways known to the human of giving people an amazing of power and control. The riders of specced sports bikes know that a Bandit not have the power, torque, ride or braking of the better but for a host of less demanding and skilled riders (like it fits the bill perfectly

To sum up, I recommend this bike as a biggish bike or as a bike for returning to motorcycling after a away. Just wash it the you get back home if you want a fighting chance of preserving the

Summary: Highly receommended for to biking or as a first biggish
