Suzuki’s Burgman family 125cc, 250cc, 400cc and models, but in North America has only offered the larger two The first of these two models to be was the Burgman 400, which was to the American and Canadian markets for the model year. In much of Suzuki is using the name 400 instead, and the same body is also available in a 250cc in recent years.

The 400 was introduced in the USA for 2003 and continues to be as of 2013. The Burgman 400 was largely for 2003 to 2006 (shown left) aside from a “Type S” model in 2005 2006. The Type S 400 added chrome bars, mirrors, blacked out rims, gauges and a body colored spoiler.

For 2007 the Burgman 400 entered its generation with an all new model above). The 2007 Burgman 400 a new 400cc engine that DOHC, liquid cooling, injection and 4-valves. Also new was the which took on an edgier The 2007 Burgman 400 also got a windscreen, more underseat (62 liter), a larger front and a

nice new instrument panel. For years Suzuki sold an ABS version of this scooter the regular model, but starting 2011 Suzuki began selling the ABS version.

The both generations of 400 have used a single 4-…, 4-valve, liquid engine, while the second adds fuel injection and cams to that list. motors are capable of propelling a rider to about 95mph, but the generation motor boasts efficiency. The 2003-2006 Burgman 400 records about 50-55mpg, the second generation sips at 55-60 mph which is pretty for a 489 lbs (dry) machine.

This of performance is pretty comparable to its competitor, Yamaha’s Majesty. scooters are big machines that adequate power for interstate while bettering the 40-50mpg the bigger 500-650cc maxi-scooters achieve.

If you’re looking at the 400, you should also a look at Yamaha’s 400cc and perhaps keep an eye on the used for Piaggio’s 460cc X9. There a lot of scooters in this category but all of are

excellent bikes and worth at. If you’re not sure if 400-500cc is for you, check out Honda’s Silverwing and of course, the Burgman

On the other end of the maxi-spectrum, a smaller machine like Honda’s and Kymco Downtown 300 ofter touring power for the solo while posting up to 70mpg. A 300 machine is fine for a single while a 400cc scoot is for use with a passenger and the 600cc offer enough power for spirited riding while

Overall, the 400cc Burgman is a scooter for practical maxi-scooterists who addicted to power. One could $2000 more to get the larger Burgman, but 400cc offers amenities and plenty of power for cruising along with milage than it’s sibling. If you’re used to a lot of or you plan on doing a lot of fast riding, you might want to at a 500-650cc machine, but otherwise the 400 will be a great choice.
