Suzuki gp 125cc PROBLEM!?

Ok so i had my bike for 2 weeks now, i have a big problem which no one can really figure out whats wrong is very weird so please listen well.

its a suzuki gp 125 cc 2 stroke 1983.

when i first got the bike it started no matter what day or time.

but now.

if i start the bike on the day and let it run for 10 seconds, then the bike will start on the first kick through the whole entire day no matter the time or weather conditions.

but if i let the bike stand until the next day say morning or something and i try to start it it just will not start unless i give it at least 25+ kicks and try everything then it starts.

problems i thought they might be.

i checked the spark plug it looks perfect, the gap is perfect too.(cleaned it and inserted it back.

the wire that goes throught the cap of the spark plug that has a bit of a problem because the metal that goes into the cap there was like 1 wire only touching it so i cut the wire and made a lot of metal so it touched the cap which then the cap goes into the spark plug. the cap is great condition no rust or corrosion or watever the cable that goes into the cap looks very decent and nice.

has any 1 out there has experienced any of this problem before?

also before i start the bike i turn the petrol ( ON ) lol and then as soon as its on i try to start it do i have to leave the petrol to on for a lil while before i start or as soon as its on i can run the bike? i mean there shud be enough petrol the day before to start it.

so today i cut the wires and inserted it all together cleaner the spark plug and made sure the gap is perfectly together and as soon as everything is on half a kick and it started like never before, but if i live it until tomorrow morning or so it will not start unless i give it many kick 25-30- even 35-40 kicks. is madness, as i got to go work and i dnt wannna sit there half the day kicking it, the bike is in superb condition and only has 18k miles on the clock for an 1983 model. just passed its mot last month.

any help?

it’s a 2 stroke right?

anyway, some 2 strokes are cold natured (meaning it’s hard to start in cold or fairly cool weather),This is because the cold air is denser than warm air, and to get the proper ratio of air to fuel more fuel is needed.

doesn’t the bike have a choke lever/knob on it?

p.s you might want to try spraying a few squirts of ether in to the carb, this will make much easier to start opposed to having to worry if your going to be late for work.

good luck

Asker’s Rating: Asker’s Comment: thats was a good answer but once the choke is always pointing to the right which i think it means full, but when i turn it half way or off when the bike is started it just cuts out completely, but even when its cold its still the same. thanks a lot tho anything else?
