Suzuki GS 500

I bought a new Suzuki GS500F K5 a ago and have found it to be an absolutely machine. I also own a 20-year old which shares a very design of power plant. In the older GS250T is an eight-valve with all the complexities that whereas for the GS500 the Suzuki opted for a more reliable lower power) 4 valve which makes it even reliable than its 250cc

The engine design on the GS500F has a very long pedigree and I be very surprised if there any major design or manufacturing remaining. That said, my engine did exhibit a knocking when the bike was leaned to one I took it back to the dealers and told me it was a known problem this engine.

They got a complete set of parts to fix the which, after fitting, cured the problem (well guys, I was impressed with service). Incidentally, the problem is cam float. It does not affect the or reliability of the bike, its just a bit and would obviously make it to sell the bike on.

So my advice to who buys a GS500F is to listen out for noise and take it straight to your dealer. Suzuki all about it and they won’t

I have done 12,000km on my in the last year and if I take it on the run to work and back (30km way) I can get close to 80mpg. Yet the will go like stink if you open the throttle and let it rev towards the red Certainly plenty enough unless you are a very experienced and can handle more.

The handling of the is outstanding, it feels very even in the wet and I have never had a out of it. You can reckon on 15000km out of a set of tyres if you burn rubber too hard. The work well, though the does squeak a bit unless you it hard.

My Suzuki GS500F has started touch of the starter every for the last year and has never let me It’s powerful and comfortable for two-up riding, though if and passenger are on the big side I think it struggle a bit. I intend to use to do some touring as well as and am really looking forward to

If I have one gripe about the GS500F it’s build You have to be prepared to keep bike sprayed with spray on all the vulnerable parts find out which they are if you an eye on them and watch for corrosion to — then give a squirt regularly and you’ll be This is especially important in the winter when they the roads. If you’re not careful bike will look a real dog by the end of the winter.

Regarding after-market exhausts for the in the UK try Predator (Google it and you’ll it easy enough) they do a stainless exhaust for around which should see you all right for years (better than the steel job that Suzuki put on is never going to last any at all).

I’ve had my Suzuki for nearly a year now, and had no problems. It’s been fun, really reliable, powerful and great on fuel. The thing I dislike is the soft when even on its hardest (rear only) it is still to

But despite this, it is an excellent
