Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa Reviews

Presenting the performance king; the revolutionary GSX1300R Hayabusa. The most aerodynamic open-class blaster ever built by Suzuki gives a performance that places it in a class of its own.

The precision behind the power is a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-cylinder inline DOHC engine, with a top speed to take your pulse places it’s never been. Masses of torque, and masses of power at any rpm, the Hayabusa’s acceleration makes the competition look positively lame. Blistering speed, phenomenal stopping power, there’s enough feel in the six-piston caliper brakes to haul this lightning bolt up with ease.

And if you think the Hayabusa’s a hot head, think again. Each cylinder bore is SCEM plated to reduce weight and friction and improve heat dissipation. While the Hayabusa’s slippery bodywork makes it the ultimate wind-cheat, Suzuki Ram Air Direct (SRAD) means it also uses the wind. SRAD intakes are located close to the centreline of the aerodynamic fairing nose. The integrated turn signals are positioned and shaped to force more air into the intakes.

Pressurised air is ducted into a large-capacity airbox and fed into the engine through straight, downdraft intake tracts. The result is a significant boost in horsepower, torque, economy and acceleration. The aluminium-alloy twin-spar frame offers incredible rigidity and the finely tuned suspension rear shock means the only pounding you’ll feel is in your heart.Painstakingly crafted, meticulously engineered, a production machine that is so advanced it created its very own category – Ultimate Sport.

1,299cc, inline-4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine has large, narrow-angled valves, compact combustion chambers, Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM)-plated aluminium cylinders and a crankshaft-driven balancer shaft.

Digital electronic fuel injection system with 8-trigger-pole crank-angle position sensor for precise fuel flow and optimum combustion. Individual ignition coils built into the spark plug caps are powerful and lightweight.

Suzuki Pulsed-secondary AIR-injection (PAIR) system greatly reduces emissions.

Suzuki Ram Air Direct (SRAD) intakes placed near the point of maximum air pressure, integrated turn signals positioned and shaped to enhance the ram-air effect, large-capacity airbox and straight, downdraft intake tracts together deliver significant boost in horsepower, torque and acceleration.

Large-capacity, back-torque-limiting clutch delivers smooth, predictable engagement and light clutch feel.

Precisely designed full fairing and bodywork including one-piece front fender, narrow air intake, optimised radiator and oil cooler layout for maximum aerodynamic efficiency.

Aluminium-alloy twin-spar frame and swingarm built with race-proven technology.

Titanium-coated 43mm inverted front forks come with adjustable spring preload, compression and rebound damping, and use aluminium internal components for weight reduction.

Cast aluminium-alloy piggyback-reservoir rear shock absorber features adjustable spring preload, compression and rebound damping.

120/70 ZR17 front and 190/50 ZR17 rear radial tyres on hollow-spoke cast aluminium-alloy wheels.

Dual floating 320mm front disc brakes with 6-piston calipers, and 240mm rear disc brake with dual-opposed 2-piston caliper both provide responsive stopping power.

Convenient and comfort features; Compartment under the passenger seat. Bungee-cord hooks on the passenger grab bar rail (standard equipment). Hinged 21-litre fuel tank for easier maintenance. Bright wide beam headlight, and clear-lens front and rear turn signals for sporty appearance.

Centre stand is optionally available.

4-meter instrument panel uses step-motors for speedometer and tachometer to achieve a thinner design that improves visibility.
