be long but worth a read

You know how when you ride and frequently push your that 100kmh starts to real slow. Have you that after riding the 14 for than a year and having it’s limits, you begin to that maybe it’s it’s edge, or it’s not enough, or it doesn’t handle the as well as it could?

I discovered this weekend it is. It’s not the bike by any means. just that you have so familiar with it, your have improved so much you begin to take a few things for

Then that magical comes back to you, you realise this machine is all it should be and is not just a sports but a sports bike in it’s own too.

Sure, it’s not in the of the knee sliding, hanging it all out GSX1000 and R1 club going kmh but it gets pretty darn when pushed.

Last I pushed my bike to what I the absolute limits. About 30 set off on a 410km ride around very good motorcycling and what would be considered a pace. 18 or so bikes went the quick way and I opted to run with the buggers feeling like a ride over the longer and then meet with the for lunch.

Well, the 1 litre sliding contingent disappeared quickly at warp speed a howling noise as they lit up machines to the redline and my initial to keep up were thwarted by a and an R1, both riders not into the sliding riding style, me.

The Busa kept ahead on the and I didn’t quite have the to get by.

At one point he changed down a hard corner too early and the shot out a bit which slowed him for me to take him out of the corner and then I was off to try and the others. At one point we were all at about 160kmh when a cop car towards us and didn’t do a thing. can you do when 12 bikes shoot

Anyways, I was very lucky, the 1 club turned of at a small and the guy on the Busa and I didn’t realise. The 2 hours I spent trying to up with the 1 litre club. windy roads, hairpins

I left the Busa well and arrived at the agreed meeting about 2 minutes after the group arrived when we up at the beginning. All along I thought the group would be ahead any tickets, but they were way having lunch and I could been pulled up at anytime, hard out up to 230-240kmh.

It was on the way back I realised how good and able the 14 is.

I was at this stage with other bikes from the group with an R1 in front. I was on his through all the twisties and most the straights. A bit later after of the guys stopped for gas and we were along at about 130kmh, guy on a TL1000R barrels past. not to be outdone, I drop a couple of and I’m on his tail as we go into the

We start taking posted corners at 130kmh. I have seen a TL1000 ridden this. The guys right the pegs scratching. I’m to hang off the 14 as the pegs touch earlier than the TL.

My pegs are hard and the rear tyre is starting to bob and I know I am at or very the cornering limits of my bike, yet I can with him. Amazing.

We about a dozen corners this and on the last tight before a straight it happens.

The TL rear wheel steps out a but my 14 is still rock solid. The TL into a full on tank the riders fighting it, the rear out to right, grabs and high him at 130kmh.

I’m hard on the and pull up in time. The TL slid 120 down the road and he’s and rolling about 90 metres. off the bike real quick and the back on his feet, in full gear but looking like he out of a rag shop. His gloves were off, the armour in his sleeves and and knees were torn out and lying on the road.

His injuries, wrist, a few knicks out of extremities and to the meat on the right forearm, but I the bike will be close to a off.

After sorting the guy out and seeing him with a lift home a friend in a cage, I rode the remaining gorge and twisties in the lead with the R1 following. stopping for gas, he mentioned he believe how such a big bike handle and go so well.

Folks, we a machine we can be proud of. It can cruise all fully loaded with a and be the perfect tourer, but when it down to boogying in the tight it’s right up there of being insane.

It can never it with the all out racers, into their knees on the tarmac, but right up there with the who ride their sports in the sub racer class.

Man, I this bike. I was really that acceleration almost that of the busa, up to 220kmh.
