2009 Suzuki Boulevard M50 Review

This review is the result of my attempts to find a professional review for the 2009 M50.  Unfortunately, this doesn’t add to them as I am in no way a professional or columnist for that matter.  having just purchased the I hope to provide more than can be attained from own couple mile test

So if you are considering the purchase of a 2009 read on.

I looked at several prior to making my decision to the M50. At first I was set on a Honda 750. I learned how to ride on a 250, and I have riden four wheelers since I was but a wee So, I guess you could say I had a bit of brand towards Honda.  In fact, I into the Suzuki dealer to find a nice used for my next bike.

Now I wish I say that the M50 was love at first But at first glance, I was not so much as I was just not interested.  It had big chrome that stuck too far back and out to the It looked too big for me (remember I was trading a 250).  The Honda Spirits, on the hand, seem to be a bit smaller you sit on them (which is good for my frame).

I spent a few minutes looking at the ‘S’ of the Boulevard family.  Unimpressed I decided to sit on the M50.  I decided I see myself on one and took it for a test

From then on, it was like my from Honda to Suzuki.  get me wrong, I still love but this bike was fantasgreat!

The Models

The 2009 Boulevard M50 in two editions.  A standard edition in all and a Limited edition in a two tone: Black and White, or Black and Aside from paint, the other difference you will is the Limited has clear turn lenses, which I will do look better.  However, 300 better?  Meh. not so much.

I several dealers, and finally myself down an Orange That actually brings up a point.  If you are trying to find an they are coming up short year.  Apparently Suzuki cut significantly this year due to the

Many dealers have sold out of their M50s and be getting anymore for the season.  if you look hard enough, you be able to find one.

The thing I noticed when this motorcycle is its width. not uncomfortable by any means (except for long rides, but I’ll get to in a minute), it just has a certain to the engine with the air filter out to the side  This makes  it to see the foot pegs.  This was a problem at first as I was used to pegs that were below me.

The M50s are a little bit forward.  It took no time to get used to the setup, and found myself very preferring the forward pegs.  It allows larger riders to more naturally, while keeping the seat (and the center of balance) low. bike is a little on the heavy at just shy of 600 pounds, but maneuverability is by no lost.

Even low speed are simple with the low center of and remember, I started on 325 pound

Now the owner’s manual warns the to take it easy during the in period or the first 1000  For the first 500 miles, no than 1/2 throttle is recommended. the first 1000 miles, no than 3/4 throttle should be  As difficult as this has been so I’ve done pretty with following the directions. even with keeping in with the warnings, I can still say the bike has power.

The M50 has than enough power to at highway speeds.  It also has power to pass and climb without downshifting.   I haven’t a passenger yet, so I can only that the extra weight be no problem for the M50 either.

(See The Ride)

It’s customizable. of the nicest things about the M50 is the components available for it.  There are of extras available from Suzuki and third parties as Cobra and K N.  Additionally, not much has over the past couple of so most of the components from the will still fit the 2009s.

The gas is better than average. at 49 miles to the gallon, the M50 is one of better for miles per gallon.  This is than likely because the is fuel injected.

In addition to that, I’m a fairly rider, so I have actually getting better than the 49 mpg

It’s liquid cooled. knows liquid cooled is  Don’t ask questions.

It’s  Apart from the tail curves up in the back and just look like it belongs the rest of the bike, everything on the M50 is B-E-A-UTIFUL.  I especially like the one, but what can I say, I a thing for orange.

The price is  I have to admit, when I sat on the bike not knowing it’s I thought to myself, “there’s no way I’d be able to afford this.”  I was 10 or 11 grand.  When it found out it was $7995 for the Limited, I was shocked.

if you are lucky enough to find the dealer, you can probably shave a few off of that yet too.

The motorcycle perfect.  I’ve read user reviews claiming the seat makes one’s numb after not too long of a I don’t have that so much, though I could see why people might.  The problem I is with my back starting to after about 20 miles.  I this on the fact that I am forward just a bit too much.

However, this could be I am fairly small, and other may not experience this.  As far as the comfort goes, gel seats are an available for the bike, though I’ve many people say it should be with the base price.

The brakes are another common about the motorcycle.  For the bike has, one would to press on the rear brake and the smooth grip of the rear  However, when you look at the wheel, you will see something the disc.  Yes, that’s the M50 is equipped with a rear brake which doesn’t the bike the stopping power you want or expect.

It’s not a deal, but be prepared to press on the brakes a little bit harder to get the power you want.

There is no tank.  This isn’t a issue either as the bike is with an accurate electronic gauge.  But when it out, it’s really

If you are considering a new motorcycle or even first motorcycle, I would recommend the Suzuki Boulevard  It’s easy to look at, not priced, and a blast to ride.  I no regrets with my purchase, and I you won’t either.  If anyone has any questions they would to ask about the bike, please free to comment on this I’ll be sure to get back to
