2013 Ducati Hypermotard andHypermotard SP- First Ride Review

2013 Ducati Hypermotard and Hypermotard SP – First Ride All-new 821cc, liquid-cooled Testastretta delivers supermoto goodness. Photographer. Milagro Ronda, Spain —If there was one complaint we had about the first-generation Ducati Hypermotard, it was a lack of versatility. Its unforgiving riding position and wedge-like seat made escaping even your own neighborhood an uncomfortable exercise in willpower. But if you did manage to venture out and find a tight, twisty road, the payoff was awesome. Comfort, however, is not an issue with Ducati’s new 2013 Hypermotard. Its riding position is far more relaxed, thanks to a taller handlebar and more than 3 extra inches of space between the bar ...

BikeBoy.org — Ducati 851 SP3

In my opinion, one of the prettiest bikes Ducati has ever built (even if it has got black wheels ). The 851 and 888 SP series bikes are also lots of fun to ride, with quick revving engines begging for a thrashing. There is a bit of a story to this one that is worth telling. This particular bike came in for a major service and a running on one problem with one rather loose and one broken cam belt. No reflection on the owner, he had just been given some not so correct advice that unfortunately cost him a bit of money. After the service, he claimed the bike did not have anywhere near the grunt it had previously. Believing we had done the job correctly, I could only guess the difference came ...

2010 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 EVO and EVO SP Review — Motorcyle Review…

The Hypermotard 1100 gets updated with lighter weight, more power The $14,495 2010 Ducati EVO SP in action, visually differentiated from the $11,995 EVO by its multicolor paint, red-rimmed Marchesini wheels, and -hlins suspension components. Ducati’s Hypermotard broke into uncharted territory when it debuted in 2007, so the Italian manufacturer had few preconceived notions when it came to updating their feisty supermoto. Now that the more affordable Hypermotard 796 has joined the lineup, the big-bore 1100 and 1100 S models have morphed into new and improved versions of their former selves as the 1100 EVO and 1100 EVO SP. Prices remain the same at $11,995 and $14,495, respectively, ...

2013 Ducati Hypermotard and Hypermotard SP Review

2013 Ducati Hypermotard and Hypermotard SP Review Fear not, the Hyper hasn’t lost its hooligan edge. This one-wheeled moment came without much provocation— though the new Hypermotard isn’t nearly as wheelie happy as its torque-ier, shorter-wheelbased predecessor. Photo © Milagro Hypermotard Riding Impressions: On the Road My “Hyper” day started at the Ascari Race Resort in Ronda, Spain, but before attacking the track I was tasked with testing the standard Hypermotard through 45 miles of narrow, twisty secondary roads. Near-freezing ambient temperatures required caution when it came to cornering (especially follwoing a fellow journalist’s lowside wreck during ...

Ducati 1198 SP — AskMen

Ducati 1198 SP Price: $22,000 Top Speed: 186 mph MPG / LPG: Unknown If it’s good enough for Prince William. it must be good enough for anyone. The royal Easy Rider can be sniped by expert paparazzi on a stealth black 2011 Ducati 1198 SP, rounding the tracks of England clad in Union Jack knee pucks. Yes, it’s true. The beloved prince has been a diehard fan of two wheels since the age of eight, starting on off-road machines, attaining his motorcycle license in 2002, working his way up to Japanese street bikes, and finally ascending the ladder to the more exotic Italian powerhouses of today. In 2008, William rode next to his brother Harry in a motorcycle rally across South Africa ...

RideApart Review: 2013 Ducati Hypermotard SP RideApart

RideApart Review: 2013 Ducati Hypermotard SP The 2013 Ducati Hypermotard is all new; smaller, lighter and more powerful than the air-cooled model it replaces. This SP version adds fancy Ohlins shock and Marzocchi forks for even better handling. What’s New Tons! Ducati ditched the previous 1078cc and 803cc, air cooled engines for an all-new 821cc, liquid cooled V-Twin engine. I was on the Hypermotard SP which meant getting to choose between the same riding modes shared with the Panigale. Race: 110 HP, high throttle response, and level 1 ABS on the front wheel only and traction control off. Sport: 110 HP, medium throttle response, and level 2 ABS to both breakes with some traction control. ...

Ducati 916 to 1199R (and a few SP and SPS models too…) Bike Social

Ducati 916SP to 1199R, we can all dream. Posted: 22 February 2013 Since the flag first dropped at the first World Superbike round at Donington Park in 1988, Ducati have upheld a fine tradition of ever so slightly bending the rules with homologation specials. We take a look at the finest. WSB, and before it the TT F1 race series, required that bikes were mass-produced to be entered into the races. Honda, Yamaha and even Suzuki and Kawasaki all made homologation specials such as the exquisite RC30, RC45, OW-01 and OW-02 or the more workman like ZXR750RR, ZX-7RR and GSX-R750RR, however none did it with quite such determination as Ducati. Where the Japanese produced a homologation special and ...
