2014 Ducati 1199 Superleggera ‘ If You Have to Ask, You Can’t…

2014 Ducati 1199 Superleggera … If You Have to Ask, You Can’t Afford It Once in a while, Ducati introduces extremely exclusive, outrageously expensive special editions. The “outrage” isn’t meant to mean this bike isn’t worth it, just that it is … a pretty outrageously expensive machine. Oh, and we don’t even know the price yet. What you are looking at is the 2014 Ducati 1199 Superleggera which Ducati states “combines a precious cocktail of materials such as titanium, magnesium and carbon fibre to set the highest power-to-weight ratio of any production motorcycle”. A package weighing less than 350 pounds, and producing “more than 200hp”. All of the details are in the ...

2012 Ducati Monster 696 Comparison – Motorcycle USA

2012 Ducati Monster 696 Comparison The Ducati Monster 696 impressed all our testers in appearance and performance. See the video of how the Ducati Monster 696 stacked-up in our comparison. The Ducatisti don’t need to be told how great the Monster lineup is, but the Monster 696 blew the other bikes away in our shootout when it came to the subjective scoring. The Duc scored 10s for engine performance, engine character, drivetrain, brakes, handling/suspension and appearance. During the objective performance tests, however, the only top spot earned by the Monster was its sprightly 422-pound curb weight (63 pounds less than the heavy Yamaha). I think the sexy appearance and sound of the ...

2000 Ducati 748

2000 Ducati 748 Just picked up this bike (12/27/99) at Honda Peninsula in Sunnyvale, California. Here’s a quick photo. I bought the biposto setup, as I ultimately wanted to have both the biposto and monoposto, and it was cheaper to buy the monoposto afterward (only need one seat, don’t need the rear pegs and hangers, etc.) After having bought a mono tailsection, swapping back and forth is quick and easy – just two delrin pins need to be removed and reinserted, and the entire tailsection can be changed. After riding the TL1000R for some 12,500+ miles, I caught the bug for a Ducati. The famed suspension was the big draw, although I was a bit leery of the reputation for reliability. ...

2014 Ducati 1199 Panigale R First Drive – Autoblog

2014 Ducati 1199 Panigale R Comments Add When 30 Grand For Two Wheels Isn’t Too Much The R’s internal upgrades are what separates mere crotch rockets from bona fide race bikes. Though the famously fast and tricky race circuit is partly to blame (or credit) for the pulse-quickening emotions, the bike provides the bulk of the fear. Introduced last year as a continuation of Ducati’s big-engined superbike lineup whose lineage (888, 916, 999, 1098, 1198) has left a numerical paper trail of how engine displacement has steadily grown over the years, the Panigale R succeeds the S version as the top-dog beast that’s homologated from its consumer application to the global arena ...
