Ride Review: 2011 Ducati Diavel

Ride Review: 2011 Ducati Diavel 03/17/2011 @ 5:27 pm, by Jensen Beeler 8 COMMENTS Even before its launch in Milan last year, the 2011 Ducati Diavel has been the talk of the motorcycle industry since its first spy photo was released. It amuses me that Ducati chose to name the Diavel (say: dee-ahh-vole) after the Bolognese word for the devil. The linguistic foreplay from Ducati is just asking for a response from motorcyclists who feel that Bologna company has over-stepped its prescribed branding boundaries, and sold its soul to the Devil of bottom-line thinking. While rife with metaphor, there is an important financial reason for the genesis of the Ducati Diavel. As I’ve already explained ...

2011 Ducati Diavel First Ride — Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine

2011 Ducati Diavel | First Ride Dee-AH-vul: it means ‘devil’ in the Bolognese dialect of Italian… and to Cruiser readers, it will no doubt live up to its name. The hate mail comes on hot and heavy whenever we feature a Ducati in these pages, so we’ll keep this brief. The gist is this: though Ducati thinks they have themselves a cruiser, we can confirm that this is abundantly not true. Cruisers do not have 163 (claimed, crankshaft) horsepower, traction control, steel trellis frames, or anything that can be described as a “tail section” instead of a fender. Ducati will tell you it’s got a relaxed riding position with forward-placed controls, a raked-out front end and a long wheelbase. ...

RideApart Review: 2013 Ducati Diavel Strada RideApart

RideApart Review: 2013 Ducati Diavel Strada What’s New EVERYTHING. Ok, so not everything. But the Diavel Strada is a “new” bike for 2013, coming in the form of a touring oriented adaptation of the launched-in-2011 Ducati Diavel. The Diavel Strada get both a windscreen and side bags, while the bars, seat, and pillion seat have all been adapted for the bike’s new purpose. The bars are now swept up and come in at 0.6 inches higher and 2.36 inches back towards the rider. The seat received some additional foam padding and the pillion seat got a back rest, new grab rails, and slightly adjusted foot pegs. Electronically, the Diavel Strada got fancy heated grips and auxiliary power outlets. ...

Video road test: Ducati Diavel

Video road test: Ducati Diavel The 20120 Ducati Diavel We love oddities and mold-breakers here at Gizmag. And in the motorcycle world, we’re so used to seeing evolution rather than revolution that we get really excited when a new machine comes along that thinks outside the square. That’s why we’ve been hanging out to throw a leg over Ducati’s Diavel — it’s the company’s first foray into the cruiser market in recent years, and it takes a distinctly Italian approach to the genre. A laid-back musclebike style and enormous back tire make it look like a boulevard cruiser, but when you twist the throttle and unleash 160-plus horsepower through the screaming ...

Ducati Diavel Review by WIlliam Will’s Life — Blog

Ducati Diavel Review by WIlliam What was Ducati thinking. Ducati is known for their superbikes, right? Well that is what attracted me to this so-called cruiser. I am now 35 and too old to keep hugging a gas tank, plus my wrists start killing me and I want to be able to go on longer rides with a passenger. So I test rode the Ducati Diavel. All I can say is OMG! It sounds like a BEAST! Have you ever heard an RC51 or any twin sport bike with no baffles and fell in love? I owned everything from growing up on a dirt bike to a basic Harley to a GSXR 1000 to a Triumph Speed Triple. Nothing compares to the overall categories this baby covers. I have to say my favorite relaxing deep sounding bike ...

Ducati Diavel Ash On Bikes

Ducati Diavel Pictures: Milagro (click on images) Phenomenal. Never mind starting this review with some background and building up to the conclusion, you have to know right now: the new Ducati Diavel delivers way beyond the most optimistic expectations. So much so, this is the most unexpectedly brilliant machine I ´ve ridden for many years, and that’s not simply because my expectations were low to start with — I always thought it was going to be fun — but because it handles superbly and is powered by the best engine Ducati has ever made. It came from a good starting point of course, as the engine is exactly the same as the one which powers the hugely and deservedly successful ...

Ducati Diavel in India, New Ducati Diavel, Ducati Diavel Review, Ducati…

Ducati Diavel in India: A Technological Marvel I was blown out when first saw the Ducati Diavel at the LA Auto Show. Diavel looks large but in contrast it’s light, fearless, and sophisticated and undoubtedly a fast machine. Looking at the ride gives an impression of Diavel being a sport motorcycle but in reality it’s the first bike from Ducati to enter in the cruiser class. I guess I was the most excited person to see the work of Ducati and when the bike was un-curtained, the beast I saw was beyond my expectation. Hats-off to Ducati. Spanner magicians at Ducati have created a motorcycle that is with cruiser styling, such as stretched wheelbase, fat rear tyre, low seat height and placement ...

Ducati Diavel: SA launch in CTN Wheels24

Ducati Diavel: SA launch in CTN Author: Dave Fall The Aston Martin showroom on the left, Future Classics’ on the right, but in between these two car dealerships on Breakwater Boulevard at Cape Town’s Waterfront it was the Ducati motorcycle shop that stole the limelight, It was showcasing its latest and greatest muscle-bike, the Diavel, just recently launch at the Eicma show in Milan. Want to know how to pronounce the Diavel’s name properly: try “Dee-ah-vel.” I can also tell you this unconventional-looking bike has four valves per cylinder, it’s desmodromic (valves are opened and closed by cams), while the 1198cc can brag 120kW and 128Nm. There are three riding modes and the ...

2012 Ducati Diavel Cromo Review —

A devil of a different color The standard Diavel is available in a similar Diamond black color scheme for the same seventeen-five price tag, but a Cromo it is not. The Cromo ranks fourth in the Diavel line, behind the AMG ($26,495) and the Carbon ($19,995). In any guise, the Ducati cruiser is a bike unlike any other. The Diavel is surprising in so many ways,” says grand poobah, Kevin Duke. “It looks huge but feels small and has a caricaturish fat rear tire yet is amazingly agile.” To which senior scooter editor, Troy Siahaan, adds “Its stance is pretty badass, menacing, aggressive and mean, just as a bike in this category should be.” Sitting dormant the Diavel could be construed ...

Ducati Diavel 2011 Bikes First Ride Bikes over 1000cc Autocar India

The all-new 162bhp Diavel oozes Italian flair and comes laden with the latest Ducati tech. The Diavel is unlike a Ducati, brawny and macho. Stretched and low, its double parabola headlight swoops into tapered alluminuium alloy handlebars. Panels flow with smooth lines, visible as the alluminium headlight shroud meets similarly alloy and brush-finished air scoops. Colossal in pictures, this power cruiser isn’t all that intimidating in the flesh. As on the Multistrada, electronic ignition allows the key to remain in your pocket. The Diavel instruments are read via a pair of displays. The humongous tank has deep grooves. Like most Ducati’s, both flanks flaunt trellis frame sections. ...
