First Ride: Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide – Road Tests…

First Ride: Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide I have to start with weather protection, as that’s what we needed most on this sub-aqua adventure. It started raining at Birmingham and stopped 700 miles and two days later in Epsom. For protection the Glide is great, once over 40mph. The bar-mounted fairing and screen keep everything off, the crash-bar mounted pods keep the legs and feet dry. I’d fitted a 3-inch higher screen which was fine until I was on a dark motorway overtaking lorries at 80mph in sheeting rain, then it seriously wasn’t fine. There are plenty of touring bikes out there, but few can compare to Harley-Davidson’s offerings, especially the 2011 H-D Road Glide Ultra. The Road Glide has been around since 1980, but this is the debut model for the Ultra trim level, which packs additional motorbike ...

2011 Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide Ultra Review Harley-Davidson recently announced its four-bike CVO lineup for the 2011 model year. Returning to the Custom Vehicle Operations stable is the range-topping Ultra Classic Electra Glide ($36,499), the popular Street Glide ($32,499), and the versatile Softail Convertible ($29,599) – all with new additions and options to set them apart from the 2010 iterations. H-D Touring Bike at an Economical Price Harley-Davidson reports it is introducing three new-for-2011 bikes. The one that caught my attention is the Road Glide Ultra FLRTU. A higher-end Harley, it remains affordable by leaving consumer teasers, such as fancy paint jobs and CVO options, for other models. Starting at $22,499, the buyer can have an incredible touring bike with the Harley-Davidson growl and name. Four colors cover this bike: Vivid Black, Brilliant Silver Pearl, Cool Blue Pearl, and Merlot Sunglo. The fairing, described in greater detail by Smartcycleshopper. has dual headlights and cockpit-style instrumentation. It offers good wind deferral to speeds of about 60 mph, when the ...

2014 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Limited first ride Photo: Harley-Davidson Denver, Colo. – Typically — too often, if you’re a motorcycle journalist desperate for some headline-generating news — Harley-Davidson new model launches are long on stylistic updates but short of major technological advancements. Form trumps function with much talk of paint and chrome and far too little about pistons and brake pads. Fender extensions would be big news mainly because so little about the bikes were being updated. Indeed, other than different audio systems and a slightly larger engine, nothing much has happened to the big touring Harleys, for instance, since their big chassis revision ...

One very interesting fact that should be pointed out though is that Scott doesn’t have any tattoos. No, no tattoos for me. yet, Scott replied, when asked if he was inked or not. The number seven with the two dice that is on the primary cover may be my first one. I’m just trying to find the right person to do it.
