2009 Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700 Review — Ultimate MotorCycling

2009 Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700 | Review High-Tech Classic After a six-year leave from the highway, Kawasaki is reentering the full-dress touring market with the technologically forward, nostalgically styled, 2009 Voyager. Kawasaki is touting their new Vulcan 1700 series as a bellwether for the company’s future in the cruiser segment, and the reimagined Voyager has been commissioned as their cruise line’s luxe flagship. With its long-… 1700cc V-twin engine and bulging ’60s muscle car styling riffs, the 1700 Voyager resembles a husky American cousin of the inline four Voyager XII that vanished over the horizon in 2003. The Voyager’s new Occidental wardrobe is the visual hook ...

Any 2009 1700 Vulcan Voyager Owners

Any 2009 1700 Vulcan Voyager Owners Posts 104 Well, I’ve had my Voyager since May of this year. So far I have only put about 1800 miles on it, but I have enjoyed every one of them. I also looked at a Harley Electra Glide Classic (and Ultra Classic) and at Goldwings. The Kawasaki is priced better. The Electra Glide Classic was at least $22K OTD, and the Goldwing base model more than that. Besides, the Harley did not include cruise control, ABS brakes, or a 103 inch engine. That stuff would easily add at least $2500 to the Harley price, but my Voyager came with those items stock. The Goldwing is nice, but I wanted a v-twin. something with a more classic look. To be fair, the Harley ...

2010 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager Road Test Photo Credit: Adam Campbell Donya Carlson August 6, 2010 Riding the 892-pound Kawasaki Voyager around town is a little like taking a Carnival Cruise ship across a pond. Once on the open road, though, the big touring cruiser transforms into a comfy companion, with 10 gallons’ worth of lockable packing space in each saddlebag and a top trunk that will hold two full-face helmets. I recently tested the Voyager’s long-distance prowess on a springtime 235-mile blast along two-lane Highway 395 to Lone Pine, California, with two other riders on Voyagers. We spent two days exploring the surrounding area and Death Valley aboard our steeds. This ride ...

2009 Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700 Review- Vulcan Voyager First Ride

First Ride: 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700 Kawasaki’s first entry into the metric V-Twin dresser category has all the markings of success. Photography By Adam Campbell When talk turns to full-dress touring motorcycles, a few key words stand out: features, power and comfort. Oh, and did we mention features? Typical touring riders like to bring everything but the proverbial kitchen sink with them; they also want all the bells and whistles engineers can throw their way, making long days in the saddle as enjoyable as possible. Kawasaki hasn’t had a serious touring contender in years. The last time it had a full dresser in the lineup was back in 2003 with the long-in-the-tooth, inline-Four ...

2010 Kawasaki Voyager 1700 Story by Neale Bayly. Photos by Adam Campbell. Riveted in the moment, breathing slowly, and trying to absorb the intensity of Mother Nature’s splendor while buzzing on my man-made mechanical steed, I have attained my own motorcycle nirvana. Rolling out of Lone Pine, California, as the sun lights the gleaming white snow on Mount Whitney two miles above us, I’ve found it. I’ve found the perfect speed and mental attitude to fully appreciate the new 2010 Kawasaki Voyager as we head south through the majestic Owens Valley. Having ridden for the past couple of days from Irvine, California, to the Alabama hills, and then into Death Valley with photos and video in ...

2012 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager ABS Road Test The Voyager has ample wind protection, with a tall, non-adjustable windscreen that you must look through rather than over. Photo Credit: Greg Drevenstedt and Kevin Wing April 2, 2013 My fiancée loves spontaneous adventure, but she’s had it with me proposing last-minute weekend getaways and showing up on a test bike she’s never ridden on before. I figured the 2012 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager ABS, with its ample wind protection, cushy seating and generous luggage capacity, would be a slam-dunk. The first pang of disappointment came when I realized that the accessory iPod adaptor ($107.95) that was on our last Voyager test bike (Rider, ...
