Suzuki 650 V-Strom

The first bike we ever tested . about 100 years ago, was the Suzuki V-Strom. It’s a great bike, with a wonderful engine, surprisingly good handling and looks only its mother could love. And now here we are testing the runt of the litter, the V-Strom 650. And what’s changed? At first glance very little. It’s still enormous, still as practical as ever and still as ugly as a drunken brawl. In fact, the only obvious difference between siblings is the single exhaust on the smaller bike and a slightly less leery colour scheme. Taking the 650 V-Strom home, then, was likely to be something of an anticlimax. Especially as over the last few weeks I had mainly been riding the GSX-R 1000 tested ...

Suzuki Burgman 650 Executive Scooter Scooters

External review. This is my seventh bike. I am 59 years old and have been riding off and on most for of my life. The Burgman integrates speed, comfort, and practicality for short jaunts around town as well as touring. My only addition is a GIVI windshield which provides as much or as little protection as I want with the adjustable windshield on the Executive model. I can easily cruise at 75-80 on the interstate and I use a bungi net to hold two round leather bags on the back seat when touring. I have better range (170 — 190 miles) than I had on my HD V-ROD and better luggage capacity. Yeah. a HD to a Suzuki scooter! No heat emanating between my legs on those 90 degree days, no noise, ...

2013 Suzuki Burgman 650 ABS Riding Impression — Cycle News

2013 Suzuki Burgman 650 ABS Riding Impression When previous Burgman owners spoke, Suzuki listened. The company made many Burgman-owner inspired changes to the 2013 Burgman 650 ABS. I’m pretty much a function-over-form kind of guy, especially when it comes to one of my daily rituals – my 100-plus-mile commute. When you’re logging those kinds of miles on a daily basis, things like comfort, practicality, affordability, durability and realistic performance all take precedence over things like looks, image and racetrack performance. That’s why I’ve become such a big fan of the Suzuki Burgman 650 and the latest Burgman — the 650 ABS. For 2013, the Burgman got a major overhaul and ...

Test Suzuki Burgmann 650 Motors TV

Suzuki Burgmann 650 test Intro: MR MORE Longer- broader- heavier- more powerful- the Burgman 650 is the scooter with the largest cylinder capacity. It is irreproachable on the road- but not in town. The philosophy of Burgman leaves the traditional field of scooters. It is necessary to leave time and mentalities to evolve in favour of this machine. Esthetique: DEVELOPING The last to come on the market- the Suzuki Burgman is over complicated. And is nothing to compare with the two-wheeled vehicle- which is the scooter of origin. It weighs only 238 kg less than the BMW R1150RT- Out of the ordinary- the Suzuki has just a dashboard. Here the liquid crystal display reigns without comparison. ...

Spending a day on a Suzuki DR 650 — National Motorcycles Examiner.com

Spending a day on a Suzuki DR 650 June 21, 2012 We were up in the hills above Boulder Tuesday doing some dirt. Ron Coleman, who runs Western Dual Sport Motorcycle Adventures. was on his BMW F800GS and I was riding Ron’s latest acquisition, a Suzuki DR 650. This was my first time on a DR. While a bit tall for my short legs (seat height 34.8 inches), the light weight (324 pounds dry) made the DR an easy bike to manage. One time when I didn’t get my foot down squarely enough and we started going over I just planted my foot and stood it back upright. Try that on a 700-pound motorcycle. Heading out of Boulder on the gravel road up Sunshine Canyon I was getting familiar with the bike ...

Suzuki SV 650 1000 specialists

JHS Racing: Tuners Innovators of the Suzuki SV At the heart of JHS there remains a special place for Suzuki’s brilliant V-twins: the SV650 and SV1000, as well as their predecessor the TL1000. First appearing in 1999, and then re-styled from 2003 with the addition of fuel injection and adjustable fork preload, the SV650 has continued to garner critical acclaim from the motorcycle press and many satisfied owners. With light, responsive handling, and a strong spread of usable torque from a beautifully balanced engine, the SV650 remains a superb road and track tool and a largely unique proposition in the middleweight class. In 2003 it was joined by the SV1000 — essentially the ...

Geezer with a Grudge — Suzuki DL650 V-Strom Owner’s Review

Me and Wee All Rights Reserved © 2007 Thomas W. Day The concise, well-edited, more politically correct version of this article can be found at the Minnesota Motorcycle Monthly website: http://www.mnmotorcycle.com/mmm/pages/2007/96/review96.htm Sport bikes, including the standard SV650, are for kids (meaning anyone under 40) and folks who have not abused their bodies into a pile of creaking, rusting, decaying bones. That’s not me. I have owned an SV650 for almost 30,000 miles and, while I like the bike, I missed my more multi-purpose Yamaha 850 TDM many times, especially on long trips. Particularly, I missed the relaxed knee bend of the TDM’s riding position and the long, soft ...

RealClassic.co.uk: Suzuki 650 Katana

Suzuki 650 Katana Four-pot Japanese classics are over-complicated, tricky to maintain and expensive to run, right? Not quite. Steve Bergman has clocked up over 120,000 miles on the cut-rate Katana and reckons it has real classic cred. The Suzuki GS650 Katana has been in the ‘cheap transport’ league for a while, but now — following the fashion of the higher-capacity Katanas — these bikes are starting to become collectible. Even so, good examples can be picked up for Ј1500; high mileage or examples in poor cosmetic state come for loads less. Yet here is a classic Japanese bike that will do high mileage and offer ready to use, fast, efficient transport. And it’ll ...
