About the Ride

I had the great opportunity of with the GM of Phoenix Arizona Danny Harris, and the owner of the Victory shop in Tucson, Schultz. They provided of the Victory Hammers for the test The stock Victory was new off the showroom with less than 10 on it, and the Snake (Victory Hammer had over 4,000 miles on it.

The or “snake,” as they call it, is personal ride. They me to ride both Hammers so I get a feel for a showroom stock first and then one that has upgraded with engine custom paint and accessories.

Victory Motorcycles and the Hammer

One that was not obvious at first was almost all Victory models the same engine and frame. that’s right, if you purchase the Vegas Jackpot, Hammer, S, 8-Ball, or Kingpin they all with the same engine and and in most cases, the same and batteries. The differences between the are how they are appointed.

For example the is the basic Victory with a price MSRP of $13,399. there the models are upgraded different accessories. This can chrome, tire size, and gauges to triple trees and metal and of course paint.

At first, I thought that really limit your And to some degree, I guess it But look at the reality of it. There is no to cross modifications. Say you want a ride, but you thought that a 250 was the most important thing for ride.

They can do it. Try that any Harley. To some degree, you can your entry point or and from there, customize the the way you want.

Two very interesting and I great benefits come having a common element, being having the same frame and other parts the line. If you walk over to the department and ask for a part, they have it and you may not even have to a year and model number. Not that, the parts that are have been proven to and are very reliable.

To customize new ride, Arlen Ness and his son worked side by side Victory engineers to design the Ness Signature Series. You these customized accessories look great and fit your perfectly. Plus there are other after market to personalize your ride the way you want it.

If you want more HP, can do that to any Victory and the price is the across the line. Plus have a great working with S S. If you upgrade with S S modification, they still the engine and parts. How cool is

The SNAKE (Custom Victory

They built the Victory to represent Arizona and thereby Victory. The 2005 Hammer is a copper rust color snakeskin and copper plating. then installed an SS 106 stroker complete with cams, springs and air box.

The heads flowed and the power commander was with custom mapping.

The were very impressive. to the Dyno, numbers came in at 131 HP and 139 Ft Lbs Top speed of 142 MPH has been recorded.

Since the Hammer is already a machine, a number of stock were retained such as the 4 Brembo brakes, rotors and steel brake lines.

The Hammer Test Ride

The fresh out of the shop for a quick inspection, was warmed up and ready to go. I on the ride and headed north to fun north of the 101 on Cave Creek I played on some of the back with curves and found the Hammer is a lot of fun to play with.

ride is not a real lightweight; it in at just over 650 pounds But the ride was surprisingly sporty. Yet down the road, it ran just the great lightweight cruiser it is.

Acceleration and cornering was great. I did that for some reason the bike tends to wander a bit when cruising down the in a straight line. Don’t what that was from. It be from the 250 tire chasing me when on uneven payment to load the bike and influence the stability. Although it was not a major I did find myself making I paid attention to where I was

This did not happen on the snake I rode it.

The suspension was tight and the clung to the corners very Acceleration was great. I did find on-ramps to play with and the 3 digit numbers were easy to obtain before you to merge with the 101 traffic.

This little beast strong. Not sure how it would do to a stock V-Rod, but it would the doors of anything that H-D In fact, I am sure two up on the Hammer, or for matter any bike in the Victory would blow the doors of any H-D rider with the exception of the

This is because of the strong torque inherent in the great 100 incher on the Victory line.

The balance mill, bolted to the frame was very smooth. under hard acceleration did you any vibration and that is to be expected. the stock exhaust was annoying.

Too for me. You could actually sneak up on I am not used to that. Now remember, unit is right off the showroom and for that I give it a very rating.

How many stock do you know of out there?

The Snake Ride

The “Snake” is Mike owner of the Arizona Victory in Tucson’s, personal ride. I was not as to his ride. I know a little Mike and I know that he climbs aboard his scooter, he it with sincerity.

I also that the snake would not go on the showroom floor for sales.

That being said, I did not push the bike hard, but had a lot fun with it. Wow, was this a treat. With the extra HP and you find yourself wanting to the grip all the time. You can play this bike; it is very willing to do anything you want.

smoking the tire from a stop to trying to find the peg on corners. This is what it is all

This Hammer was quite a bit than the stock model. You look forward to the next where you can run the Hammer through the It would trigger a grin time.

Then there are you have to ride on the 101 or down Creek as if you are a sane driver. No where you are you feel at one with the After you get to a speed of about 60 or 70, you can overdrive or sixth gear. is nice for those long across the country, very and very little vibration.

You can sit on ride all day without a problem.

The exhaust sounded great. I heard some Victory’s sounded terrible. They just plain loud. exhaust system had a great to it.

Maybe because the long and pipes gave it a little – not sure. But it did have a great to the pipes. Even when you off the throttle, the engine did not shut like some of the fuel Harley’s that I have on and you still get a great sound the exhaust.

Although both bikes are similar, they ride a different. For one, the Snake to be on rails. It was solid straight cruising down the lane and I did the suspension a little tighter.

said afterwards that he had oil in the shocks.

Obviously, the Snake was fun with the upgraded engine and the custom look that this ride a bike you to be seen on. Overall, both ran great and are a must ride if you any interest in the sport of riding. Be it on the on-ramps or even just down your favorite chasing the sun.

Make you check out these great
