How do I replace the battery, I am not very inclined.

How do I replace the clutch on a 2003 Victory Vegas?

things first

Probably cable broke at the clutch as mine did so it makes the job a little

Remove the side cover the battery box.

Slide the old out of the sheath and remove the ½ in nut the cable mount below the You will not need this nut as it comes on the new cable if it’s a cable

Remove the side from the fuse block of the bike.

Behind and to the front about a inch you will see a cable with a 10mm nut.

this nut and set it where you will not it, You will need it

Remove the and set the bolts aside.

Place a cloth or whatever you have to not the front of the tank to hit the forks.

the rear fuel tank

Lift the tank and block it something that will it up at least 2 inches.

I used a 3 in with nuts on both and washers in the hole the tank was in.

You can completely remove the tank if you but I used a shortcut.

Take a 3 piece of shrink tube and one end on the old cable after you place it on the end of the (most hobby electrical have this)

Spray on the outside of the cable and slide it out the rear of the tank with the tube in place until the tube is out at least a foot on ends.

Cut the shrink tube you get it this far beyond where it is not

Place the new cable in the shrink and shrink it again over the end of the sheath.

Lube it with for about a foot of the cable and it back the same path the old was removed using the shrink on the other end to guide it.

Now remove the nut on the of the clutch handle and slide the out, careful of the spacers on the top and of the handle.

You will see a barrel for the end of the cable still in the handle it out and remove the broken cable

Clean it and apply whatever you chose before reinstalling it on the new

(I used synthetic brake lube as it is more resistant to out)

Install the lower end of the and tighten the retaining nut on the lower

This nut is the only difficult of this job. I used a socket to tighten it

Make your adjuster is all the way in on the cable the rear cylinder head you go any further.

Reinstall the retainer bracket you have removed from the old with the 10mm nut.

the cable in the handle and slide it in the perch on the handle bars the spacers on the top and bottom and put the bolt in and the nut.

Remove the support for the and reinstall the bolt.

Adjust the cable until you have to 3/32 in play at the handle and the adjusters.

Reinstall the seat and covers and ride the bike to the cable to seat and check the

It easy and it only took me a hour for the whole job
