Europe Gets Revised 250

With American interest in for commuting, and general transportation, on the Honda, for example, has seen fit to the Elite 110. Yamaha, as it out, has an interesting 250 cc scooter in Europe that has just updated for 2010. This is currently unavailable in the U.S. but could change.

The X-Max 250 styling cues from its brother, the T-Max 500. roughly 100 pounds lighter, the has large, sporty wheels (15 front and 14 inch rear), generous storage capacity its seat, and ample instrumentation and protection.

For 2010, the X-Max which is fuel injected, an entirely new frame and styling Ergonomics change slightly a new floorboard position, which to rider comfort.

A redesigned is, according to Yamaha, inspired by the of luxury sports cars its red backlighting for its analog and digital

If you think Yamaha should the X-Max 250 and sell it in the U.S. or if you do send us an email with thoughts. By the way, we have no how this machine would be if it were made available in the but the much more expensive retails for $8,490 here.

MD Respond:

I say bring it to the US! It needs to get to other available scooters weight, storage, top speed and MPG are all considerations. The more available that come to the US the more sitting on the fence will be to join the world of scooters.

got a BMW R1200GS, but just picked up an old P200E, as I want to see if the scooter can be a Dave

I love the little Yamaha and they should bring it Huge fan of small, reliable backed by trusted companies this one. Tyler

I a Vespa sized (for scooter with 250 power the occassional freeway) from a with a decent track (Chinese bikes are too much of an and at a reasonable price – say $4-$5k.If the is right, I’d buy this baby in a But price is the scooter’s achilles Too many are following Vespa’s of ripping off the US customer. Vespa’s 6k for a 250/300 scooter is totally

Plenty of 250 motor cycles 4k so where’s the magic sauce in a that adds another

Bring it Yamaha says I, I got my ready. But get the price right. Ron

It like a great scooter, if it was to USA it would

compete with SYM 300i. This is a size that we could use

more in. Daniel

The 250 is fine for Europe and its use. I feel that the in North America is the 400 (yes we have the Majesty – how does it So add the capacity and change as little as you can and it should work just

Just how big is the trunk on that – always a serious consideration looking at scooters. Ian

I just got from Europe (France and and the x Max scooters were everywhere. I it would be a fabulous if Yamaha import the 250 and its little brother the I recently sold my Burgman 400 as its was way to and heavy riding in Montreal’s traffic.

I ended up getting a Vespa 300 is a little rocket but has zero for storage and does not come any wind protection.

I’m a big scooter fan already having a Honda Reflex and now a Silver I like the looks of this one a lot and that it’s small, fuel injected. I’d definitely be in adding it to my scooter collection.

Nice looking scoot. the storage and weather protection. But it like more than you need to get around the city, and not motor for a daily commuter on major bay area roads. capably scooters are too expensive to some very capable and too heavy. I think what I’m for is a shrunken 420lb.

ST with under seat storage and at 45 to 50 hp. Bring it in for somewhere between and that would get it done.

The X-Max looks like it be a great scooter for short to range commuters with its looks and storage capacity. If could bring in the scooter at to 4.5k, I think they have a winner. Price it too though and the scooter will on the showroom floor as the tuning machine just doesn’t the cool factor of something a Vespa. -Todd

Would like to see TZR50 here in the Robert

The addition of the Yamaha 250 would be most welcome in New York City. I’ve a daily rider of scooters for 5 I can tell you 250 is the ideal size for me. I ride an 03′ Aprilia Scarabeo Which has good power, a top speed of 75 mph, but top speed isn’t what I’m looking for as I go over 55 in the congested city.

Plus I ride two up daily as and use it as a shopping cart. What’s more to me about displacement is some low end to shoot me in front or around and traffic, and good sized to take the daily pothole, construction plate w/ passenger. But the are slim, sure we have the poseur Vespa’s and even makes by Aprilia, but they the under seat storage I’m looking for as well.

This however seems to be a bit smaller my ideal bike if it weren’t for its and weight the K7 Burgman 400 Suzuki you guys did a great job reviewing). FYI If you attach OEM side cases and a top to the Tmax, as I have on my 03 Aprilia 150 then this would be be tops on my list. Right now I am to stuff three bags of Joes into my scooter.

And for the against scooters out there I say I ride a 6th Gen VFR.

Thanks for you reviews of scooters! Look to more to come daily.

I would hate for Americans to be of any bike or scooter.

Yamaha have a good line up of and the X-Max would make a addition.

It certainly makes sense than the Morpheus. looks, practicality, effieciency. I price it around $5000…without the name. Michael

This is I just purchased a 2009 Burgman 650 Exe. I think is a need for more scooters will do interstate speeds. I at the Yamaha T-Max but the Burgman fit my better.I hope Yamaha there line of scooter and like they have in I am not a serious cruiser person though I owned a Yamaha before they were Star. Gregg

Wow! Is this the same that said just a few ago, “We don’t cover Our name is MOTORCYCLE Daily!” I the occasional old dog can learn a new trick. TCS

Yamaha to bring this to the US.

I’m not a big scooter person but that like a fun ride.

We could use common-sense (250 – 400 cc) rides here. John

I always at scooters with lots of and think “wow that be nice to have” but then I at the price and think “I could buy a nice motorcycle with more power for that of money” Certainly I wouldn’t pay the for a T-max, so it comes down to The X-max looks really and would be versatile enough for commuting needs. With selling the FZ6R for $7390 or the FZ6 for I would expect a 250cc to be a lot less expensive. Brad

You bring the 250 to the U.S. unless you do NOT the

money. Also, I would be the to buy a new black 650 Tenere from

I can’t imagine why you do not import bike. I have spoken to

of fellow bikers who own 800 GS’s/klr’s/etc and all make the

same comment….Yamaha is plain stupid. All you want to do is

I ride scooters and big I would by a great 250 scooter if it

available here. Arnold

yes to usa 5k. Robert

I think Yamaha import the X-Max 250 to the USA. I’d like to see Honda inport the here too. The Honda is another neat bike I’d to see here in the states. Don

Something the Yamaha scooters’ styling is appealing than the others the Aprilia Sportcity 250). sat on and admired the Yamaha T-Max but probably never buy one given the point. This Yamaha would do it for me if the price were $5,500. I’m looking forward to about how it performs.

If its lighter allows sprightly performance, it may a chance here in the US and avoid the “X-Lax” appellation. Don

Yamaha’s of bikes in the US is quite poor to Europe. They could the XJR1300 (without the stupid #1 the TDM900 (without the fairing) and the XJ6 to a few. Then perhaps I start to look at their

Scooters might be nice for but the 250 is probably underpowered for today’s Rich

Well count me in on one if decides to import it to the U.S. I had 2 Yamaha 400 Majesty’s and they great scooters. I also had a Vino 125 and a Honda Silverwing I am currently looking at a new Vespa but now I I will wait and see if Yamaha to import this one.

It should sell in the $4,000 to range. Ferd

Import it I don’t care. All I can think of I see one now is

how much cooler that 4 wheeler thing is! Bud

My daughter love a 250-400 scooter looks like a GSXR or R1, has a height for the vertically challenged. She is 5’ with heels and is looking for easy to manage. Even the is too tall for her.

I showed her a of the Suzuki concept scooter she got her out only to be bummed that it was a

I think there is a for small young women love to ride but are fearful of the yet don’t dig traditional boring Tom

Yes, please, I would to see this scooter sold in the US. I

seen a number of them in and France, and it is a sharp scooter.

It like it might be the idea scooter, with enough and

the big wheels to make highway feasible. I like the new look,

The X-Max would do here in the US if priced close to The only real competition is the Sportcity Cube. Steve
